I understand that, sir. What I meant was, if the total cost would have been the same, had they opted for a gas version of the Accent over the Diesel.

Got a 2015 accent crdi AT last nov (50,000km). Ngaun na 55k km, ito mga ngastos so far sa maintenance:
    - brake cleaning
    - tie rod & stab links replaced
    - front wheel bearings replaced
    - new tires
    - regular oil change for 55k km w oil filter

So far mga 40K pesos sa services & maintenance, but I guess ok lang for a 3-4 year old car. Ave ako ng 13km/l (masinag-makati).
Sa diesel vs gas topic, oil change lng ata difference which in a span of 5k km, I think naoffset ng 8-10 pesos diff ng diesel and gas.

    5,000km / (13km/l) = 384.6 Liters diesel consumption
assume 9 peso difference (gas vs diesel) per liter
Peso diff using diesel = (384.6 Liters diesel consumption) * 9 = 3,461 pesos (pang oil change haha)

Sa hatak, di ko pa naexperience yung gas cvt, but I like the low rpm torque of the crdi's dct.
Sa highway fuel efficiency, masaya ako sa crdi 4.5L per 100km.

That doesn't take into consideration the difference in fuel economy between the gas and the diesel models.

On fuelly data submitted by actual Accent owners show they mostly average 32mpg with the 1.6li gas model, while the diesel drivers get 41mpg. Applying the same ratio to your own fuel consumption a gas powered car would have used 469.3li to cover the same 5000km. That's about 84li unaccounted for, which assuming P50/li is another P4,200 on top of the P3,461 you calculated for a total of P7,661 savings every oil change.

Ako naman may 2014 Accent CRDI with 165,000 kms clocked in. Mga napalitan ko na ay Clutch, fuel filter 2x, brake pads once, tires (fourth set na), EGR cleaning. Others ay routine maintenance. May konting lagitik sa suspension pag asa humps, pero aside from that, OK pa ride. Kaya di talaga ako naniniwala na ang Korean cars bulok.
