Need your advices, Im planning to buy a used accent crdi sedan AT, yr 2015, that has just reached 50k kms. The owner didnt maintain his unit in the casa.

Kailangan ba ipacheck muna sa casa? If not, ano yung mga pms for 50k kms na pwede ipagawa sa labas?

May nakaka experience ba sa inyo ng lagutok kapag iniikot yung steering wheel? I'm helping my cousin to diagnose the problem. Napapalitan na daw nila ng tie rod pero the problem is still present. Ano kayang problem? Baka may naka remedyo ng problema sa inyo?

Accent Sedan Gas 2013 (2014 acquired)

Replace mo fluids (brake, coolant, washer, transaxle), replace filters (engine air filter, fuel, cabin) at EGR cleaning.

2016 accent crdi AT ng bro in law ko may acceleration issues. I was driving it kagabi meron ako napansin na pag accelerate mo parang nag sislip yung clutch kasi tumataas rev pero mabagal andar ng kotse. Minsan naman hindi mo ma feather ng maayos ang brake kasi parang kumakadyot ang car. Para ako naka manual kasi damba ng damba yung kotse pag trafik.

Pag mabilis na like when it has shifted to higher gears ok naman takbo niya. Pag mabagal lang at sa arangkada may ganun. Ano kaya problem?

May check engine light? Sounds like a TCM (transmission control module) issue.

Mukhang mas malaki ang sira. The transmission was taken down. It is a DCT by the way. Looks like the previous owner had problems with it. Nabuksan na daw sabi ng mechanic and whatever was done did more harm than good. Anyway, it's a 75 to 85k expense for an overhaul. Sana maayos ng tama. Fingers crossed.

Who opened the tranny? That's the challenge with newer and more complex transmissions, you cannot just let someone open and check it out.

Actually I would rather have my bro in law take it to the Casa to claim insurance. But upon initial inspection it was obvious that it has been worked on before by the previous owner and would most likely have voided his warranty.

Considering that it takes a long time to have this fixed at the Casa. Plus it may cost more than double the amount, he is taking the chance with an experienced mechanic who has worked on DCTs before. The deal however, is to try and fix it first and if it is not fixable then they will go with importing a surplus transmission. They have a good arrangement that if it cant be fixed then its money back and it all goes to the importing of the transmission.

Like i said fingers crossed with this one.

DCTs may function the same but manufacturers have different designs. Unless of course, the mechanic is quite familiar with Korean DCTs. I highly doubt there are that much experienced mechanics (local) who has worked on Korean DCTs as Hyundai is quite new to the market when selling DCT-equipped vehicles unlike the Europeans. Even Ford who has considerable experience with DCT, they were still a number of reliability issues.
