May 2nd, 2009 04:22 AM #31Ouch, sorry about the experience. Lemon unit or no, sana man lang naging mas mabilis at sympathetic ang response. Kaya nga brand new ang kinukuha eh para reliable at stress-free tapos either lemon unit or worse, design defect pa nakuha mo. The least they can do is empathize -- as in kung sa kanila nangyari yun how would they feel?

Whatever caused it, it must be something isolated.
CRDI-VGT engines of Hyundai are pretty strong. Imagine, yung Santa Fe, nailusong ko yun accidentally sa Windshield-deep flood (yes, you read it right, Windshield). Di naman nasira. Nothing changed. Even tested it to run 200kmh next day, ok naman.
I'm pretty sure HARI would replace your engine if it's too complicated/pointlessly costly to fix (unless you have modified it say with Alcohol Injection which f*cked up an SF CRDI VGT engine - of course, HARI declined to replace the engine since the warranty was voided).
Anyway, best of luck. Please update kung ano ginawa ng HARI. In any case, we have nice people here who can help if ever. :-)

I don't quite get the need for emotional stuffs like emphatize, apology and whatever though.
These people are just sellers. Sure, they sold you something and gave a 5-yr warranty assurance for it. Their job is to fix it if something goes wrong within the lenght of the warranty agreement - unless you've modified it which voids the warranty.
AFAIK, HARI usually don't give a service vehicle but it's nice you were given one.
Try that with Toyota. Heck, they even blamed fuel here for their problematic D-4D engines. Hahaha! Never heard about anyone who was given a service vehicle while their car is being used as a guinea pig for hit and miss choking diesel engine "solutions".

May 2nd, 2009 02:33 PM #35apology and whatever are not technically necessary pero customer service relations is essential..
the van is totally stock, the only thing i replaced was the horn which was also bought and installed at the casa..
my friend had an accident while driving her toyota car..it was her fault but the dealer provided a service vehicle to her without having to ask..
also, my sister in law's laptop (HP) had a problem, the dealer also provided a service unit while her unit is being repaired..
i dont think they would do the same if the incident happened to president GMA or to a prominent figure..

May 2nd, 2009 06:32 PM #36Oh no! I remember my neighbor here in our Village towed his Grand Starex back to their house when I asked him why, he told me that there’s a loud knocking sound from the engine compartment and he don’t know what the hell happened that time so for safety reasons, he decided to towed his unit back home. I need to confirm what the real problem is. I will keep you informed… By the way, I think he delivered his Starex at Hyundai Ugong for inspection… Not sure though.
