August 29th, 2011 07:29 AM #1912Thanks Sirs Rmolivar and Boybit for the replies. Those words are reassuring. Kasi except for the noise at startup I don't have any other complaint with my Elantra. :thankyou:

August 30th, 2011 08:29 PM #1914Looks like the Elantra has too soft rear suspension, tried to speed up a bit at the humps with 3 kids at the back, felt the back spring and shocks reaching its limits (felt a 'thug'). Appreciate your comments if you have a similar experience, thanks.

Hmm . . . already tried overloading my Elantra with 2 typical pinoy adults, 2 small adults and 2 kids . . . back and forth Tagaytay-Mendez-Indang route . . . so far, di naman ako nag-bottom out sa Humps . . . although dahan dahan na ako pagdating sa humps, mapa tucson or elantra . . . dati kasi e nakaranas na akong lumipad sa humps yung luma kong Lancer hehehe
What I'm curious to see is how it fare sa mga "valley" wherein full speed ka pababa, then sudden plateu sa baba . . . ang tendency kasi noon e idakdak ang suspension . . . especially pag loaded . . .

August 31st, 2011 10:22 AM #1918I was comparing it to my other car which is a VIOS, not similar though. Maybe I can attribute it to the wheelbase, front suspension can help stabilize the overall "bottom-out" of the car. Elantra's wheelbase is kinda longer so all forces of gravity is more on the back if do this hump thing. Just my 2 cents!

At what speed did you negotiate the hump that caused the bottoming out? Sa new accent kasi maximum speed 10kph lang or else mag bottom out na. I never experienced bottoming out om uneven slopes sa road, yung daan sa likod ng st lukes coming from scout chuatoco grabe pagka slope nun pero hindi nag bottom out.
