You might want to recheck your warranty coverage. Mine was delivered June 2011 and is among the first batch of units when they released elantras in the PH. Hyundai has 5-yr warranty, so I'm expecting most of the MD Elantras on the road today would still fall within the warranty period.

5 Year warranty ng Hyundai is 3 years standard like other manufacturers + 2 years worth of other non-essential parts. Learned this the hard way with our GS.

I'm just saying my 5-year old Elantra will be serviced tomorrow under warranty to replace a MDPS bushing. Not sure if its a non-essential part.

GS went on limp mode several months after it turned 3. Sent it into the CASA for warranty. Tutal, 5 years naman dapat.

Was informed that the warranty dept from HARI deemed that the faulty part would have been considered within the 3 year warranty but not the 3+2. Don't remember what the part is since it was 2 yrs ago, but it was related to the fuel pump or something.

Paid upward of 20k to get it fixed.

    End of story.

I also got mine Dec. 2011. but AFAIK the 5 years warranty goes like 3 + 2; the latter 2 years only covers the powertrain ( engine, transmission, drive shafts, differentials, and the final drive).

Please update this if you've got coverage aside from the powertrain past your 3yrs. warranty.

    Thanks!

Had mine repaired last weekend. Steering coupling daw ang tawag sa part na pinalitan. Job was done under warranty. Very cheap nga lang yung part at P56.85. Sinabay ko na sa 60K PMS. I see your elantra is even younger than mine by almost half a year.

BTW, here's what the coupling looked like:

    Its made of hard rubber.

I take my car for servicing to Hyundai Sta Rosa. Look for Jinggoy, you'll instantly recognize him. No need to mention my name.

Paid around 9K for d PMS, used fully synthetic oil.

Mileage is around 100k. Tie rod ends replaced. Steering clunk over bumps is now gone. Old (right) tie rod end had a busted boot.

Alignment for toe and camber. Done.

Tested over some bumps and it feels like new.

Its under warranty brad. Libre lahat. 200k warranty for my unit. Alignment was done outside hyundai. So i had to pay for that. Ill ask my SA regarding the tie rod. I think its less than 2000 pesos each.

Maraming flooded units. If you know how to access the fuel tank under the rear seats. Duon makikita kung meron flood residue. There are two bolts to remove to access the fuel tank. Check the bottom of the spare wheel if possible. When was the last big flood ulet? 2013?

    Www.hemanual.org for manuals.

    Good to hear Sir.
Just curious. Malapit na rin kasi matapos ang warranty coverage sa akin and it would be nice to know possible maintenance costs outside the warranty period.
    Thanks!

So far wear and tear items lng naman na experience ko.

Important lng yun fuel filter(small capacity). Aside from engine oil and filter. Atf change is important. Air filter and ac filter. Underbody nut&bolt tightening.

Di pa ako nag palit ng battery after 24mo. So thats out of warranty.

    A/c is still ok too.

Hindi naman sya magastos. After warranty palit ako siguro to a bigger vehicle.
