August 18th, 2011 03:54 PM #421bratski, san dealer nagsabi na kailang reflash yung ecu? confirmed na ba na eto ang pinang gagalingan ng problema? punta kasi ako bukas hyundai greenhills, nakausap ko na yung mekaniko, ngayon pa lang daw sila naka encounter ng knocking sound? nakupo sana maayos bukas, hindi ko pa ma check kung talagang sa fuel, dahil d pa ubos yung kinarga ko sa petron two bars pa, pero at least makita ng hyundai yung problema sa akin, more on yung change gear and cruising tsaka me tikatikatik akong naririnig pero di naman tuloy tuloy, pero alam mo yung parang lumang sasakyan na nanginginig ang kambyo, pero di naman matagal yung sound, balitaan ko kayong lahat bukas, Haay absent na naman sa trabaho.

August 18th, 2011 04:16 PM #422Pero come to think of it. Kung kumakatok talaga ang makina ng accent, hindi ba ibig sabihin, sira na ito at hindi na mapapatakbo??? Kasi yung sa akin tumatakbo naman ng maayos kaya lng nga may maririnig ka from time to time na tikatik sound habang nag aacelerate or change gear. hindi kaya nakakasira sa engine natin yung nangyari na nakargahan ng unleaded na hindi maganda quality like petron? or madradrain naman ito pag naubos?

Hyundai e.rod yung casa ko, may nagreklamo na daw sa kanila before na engine knock pero 1.4m/t daw yun, first time lang daw sila naka encounter ng a/t. Nag reflash sila ng ecu nung unang complainant naayos naman daw. Kaso nung time na nagpa service ako nag uupdate sila ng system nila kasi may mg new software ng elantra at sonata, hindi daw pwedeng hugutin para ma reflash yung ecu ko and pinababalik ako sa sept.
Regarding the knocking sound mo when changing gears, baka tightening lang ng cv joints mo yung problem. Although yung tikatik sound possible engine knock yun. Iba yung term na kumatok ang makina sa engine knock although sa tagalog literally it means that. Ang tagalog term ng engine knock is "tope"
Pag sinabi kasing kumatok sira na yun. Yung tope naman incomplete combustion dahil may delay or diprensya sa timing ng sparkplugs etc etc. Hindi naman masisira agad ang makina pag tumope pero in the long run if not addressed magkakaproblema nga. Usually modern cars have knock sensors that delay/adjust the timing based on the quality of fuel used. Kaso in the accent's case, malamang hindi tuned ang ecu sa fuel supply natin.

August 19th, 2011 10:54 PM #425bratski, just went to Hyundai Greenhills. inupdate yung ECU ko, nawala na yung knocking sound, kaya raw pala ganun before kasi sa Korea raw walang 10% bio ethanol ang unleaded nila kaya inayos siguro config ng ecu. Nawala na talaga yung knocking sound sa change gears. Kaya lang parang napansin ko na medyo slow ang response sa second gear, pag nag shift ako from usually taking a turn. Try ko nga mag change ng fuel. Pero defininetely nawala yung knocking sound. Hindi ko napacheck yung slow response sa second gear kanina kasi sobra ako excited nawala na yung knocking sound hehehehe. Dumating ako 8:30 am, 9:30pm tapos na.

August 19th, 2011 11:35 PM #426Sir sino SA mo sa hyundai GH? Si Mon ba nag suggest mag update ng ECU mo? I also went there last Monday to report the knocking sound, mine is 1.4AT. Hindi kse specifically binangit saken ung ECU update coz wala pa daw kelangan i update. Nasabi lang saken they just refreshed/"reset" the ECU. Mejo napansin ko nga ung slow response ng acceleration after lalo na from a complete stop. i had step on the gas a bit more now.
Base sa observation ko parang from a complete stop it starts with 2nd gear so i had to step on it much harder para mag downshift..
pero wala na kong engine knock na narrinig after that reset.

bratski, pwede mo naman pa update sa Greenhills yung accent mo a, atsaka sabi sa kin mekaniko lahat daw mg dealer na advise na regarding sa knocking sound kaya cgurado updated na software ng lahat ng dealer

Mga bossing, Kumakatok/tope yung makina ko on a certain speed, gear and rpm. Yung tunog nya parang sa sa tunog ng "Predator alien" .takatakatak. ito yung variant: 2nd gear/1500rpm/20-30km/h tapos 3rd gear/2000rpm/35-40km, 4th gear/2200rpm/45-50km. at this variant, hindi pa nagsasabi yung display na mag change gear ako to the next upper gear. Sabi gas daw yung possible salarin. pero pag inapakan ko yung gas like for 5 seconds, sa 3-4 seconds sya tumutunog. Ito ba yung sinasabi nyong tope? Im using XCS pala.

Yes sir tope po yan, pag tapak sa gas usually mga a few seconds lang naman siya at nawawala, pag tapak mo uli lalabas na naman. Usually bad gas minsan culprit dyan, try nyo muna sa ibang station magpakarga, kung meron parin yung unit na talaga may problema and pa reflash/update nyo na ecu. Sa akin kasi hindi gas ang problema kasi nag try ako ng xcs pero hindi nabawasan/nawala yung tope. At doon din ako sa same station nagpapakarga ng ibang vehicles ko using unleaded lang, wala naman nagiging problema.

Thanks for the info, kaso out of the way yung greenhills sa route ko, pinaka convenient yung e.rod sakin. Anyway pwede ko naman maantay, hindi ko nga lang ginagamit for the meantime yung accent.
Regarding the slow response ng accent after the reflash, ang pagkakaalam ko ganyan ang result pag na detune na siya, may nagbago na kasi sa timing ng ecu so most probably parang hihina ng konti yung hatak. On older cars na may distributor, napansin ko after adjusting the timing to compensate for the tope, humihina talaga yung makina. Better trade off narin kaysa dun sa irritating knocking sound. Ang magandang result nyan is possibly tumipid mga accent natin, kasi engine knock or tope nagpapalakas sa fuel consumption yan.
Anong Chinese brand na ba ang available sa market? Yung Leoch brand may nakita na ko post sa FB....
Cheaper brands than Motolite but reliable as well
