Im driving a VIos right now here in Cebu and I use to go to Toledo City where you have to go up the mountain and down.. I remember hearing some pinging sound when going uphill my RPM is at 2500, meaning im in the right gear... when I saw this thread I remember gasing up with Petron unleaded(coz its the cheapest near our place).. I don't realy know if its the gas.. will try again with shell since they slash their price same as Petron here...

Tama. Wag na kyo mag Petron. :D

Hehehe... shhhhh... baka may magsasabi na sales representatives tayo ng Shell kasi puro thumbs up tayo sa Shell fuels.

Then again, people who meet me in real life might get that idea, anyway... we have three Shell caps from the V-Power giveaway (so my wife, my kid and I sometimes all wear them at once), the Ferrari keychains and the Shell V-Power USB is my favorite flashdrive...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Personally, I don't think its the fuel... Its one of those quick but unfounded answers by car dealers just for the sake of having an answer.
We have been using Unioil unleaded for some time now with our FoFi. Meron kasing "mini price war" dito sa Pampanga along the side of SM Pampanga.

    Lower by P4 per liter

    No probs with "knocking".

Ang dapat yata eh ang engine maker will adapt to the local conditions kung saan nila ibebenta yung car.

This is poor research and design on Hyundai's part.

On the bright side, when the Accent's engine goes "knock knock", you just reply "Who's there?"

Our Fiesta has its own set of research and design flaws. We fix what we can and for those we can't we just embrace the "Live with it!" motto.

I'm sure even with such expensive rides such a yours, there are some aspects you are not satisfied with.

With this "knockity knock" issue, whether the engine or the fuel be to blame, there is always a fix, be it as extreme as one of the posters who returned it to the dealer. A bit of a shame with such a handsome ride.

The root of some frustrations is when we expect one thing, in this case for example, the TS expecting from an entry level economy car not to require the more expensive higher octane fuel just to operate normally.

Hindi naman yata balak mangarera eh. Gusto lang yata medyo konting porma, which the Accent gives plus fuel economy which everyone wants.

Marami na rin akong banat sa palpak ng Fiesta but not Ford as a whole. In this case, I think the shortcoming is in the particular engine, particularly installed in the Accent, particularly released here.

Not a shotgun criticism of Hyundai.

I've got all the enemies I need. Hyundai loyalists, peace!

    KABALEN....
With your point taken, I think most of us, are all ordinary consumers who just wants to have our money's worth...

With this kind of car (many would say a base model car ), we the owners are hoping that Hyundai will fix the problem. Ang problema lang dito is, it is the engine that is affected, kaya maraming umaangal. Kung fog lights, plate holder or any dashboard quirks baka palagpasin ko pa yan sa pag angal sa Hyundai, pero please wag naman engine.

I am hoping actually that this is something minor, para as you have said i can embrace the Live with it motto......

Emergency lang yung Petron or Caltex. Mas malinis talaga fuel nila IMO and based on experience.
