Just had my i10's 5K PMS today sa Hyundai e.rod, qc run by Wheels, Inc. ok ang service, personalized, courteous service advisers. nice lounge, brewed coffee to sawa. spent P. 1,520 for PMS (semi synthetic oil). nilinis na rin nila A/C, malakas na ulit A/C ko
. Sad part is, I have to wait for the (warranteed) replacement ng dome lamp ko, the switch is loose. It was broken when the car was 5 days old. BTW, they still have 1.2 i10s, lowest DP * 34K. Good luck sa monthly.

Binaha ang E. Rod pero hangang showroom lang naman which is the 1st floor so buying new units shouldn't be a problem. Hyundai Quezon Avenue di sila binaha so kung nasa QC area ka you can try them also.

Just sharing some of my thoughts regarding the i10:
- At first I thought it was smaller than a Picanto. As it turns out, the i10 is actually taller and a little longer, width is the same. Not that surprising, since they were both based on a shortened Getz platform;
- Compared to a Picanto, the interior of the Kia is more to my liking, as well as its exterior. The Picanto is more aggressive in its styling, and the cockpit is no-nonsense, indicative of a driver's car (especially in black). The i10's exterior is "cuter" and the interior is more "welcoming". Given the price difference, between the Picanto and the i10, I don't really mind the "cuteness." Besides, the i10's 1.2 engine is definitely more powerful than the 1.1 in the Picanto;
- The 1.2 Kappa engine is pretty good. I can't comment on the consumption as I have only driven a test unit, but it pulls strongly and revs easily. Chalk it up to having twin cams, 16 valves, multipoint fuel injection, all aluminum construction and a timing chain instead of a timing belt;
- Power, on paper, is from 76-80 hp, depending on your reference. I've read that there are actually 2 versions of the 1.2 Kappa engine, a 1197 cc version supposedly for the Indian market only, and a 1248 cc version for export. A local brochure indicates that the local engine's displacement is 1197 cc, so the lower hp figure may apply;
- The i10 is unique in the sense that it has the only 1.2 engine in its class and price range. Even the Picanto, which is more expensive, only has the 1.1 IRdE engine, same as the 1.1 i10. The next Picanto is believed to offer the 1.2 Kappa engine as an option;
- I'm impressed by the power of the 1.2 Kappa, considering that my very first car was a 1983 Ford Laser which only mustered 68 hp from its 1.3l SOHC 8 valve carbureted engine. Performance-wise, the 1.2 i10 felt similar in get up and go to a 1.3 i-DSi Honda Jazz, which produces around 80 hp. Power to Weight ratios must be similar, as the Jazz is a bit bigger with slightly more power. The newer 1.3 VTEC engine in the Honda Jazz/City produces a whopping 100 hp and is the most powerful 1.3 in its class...unfortunately, it's no longer as fuel efficient as the older i-DSI.
- The i10 really doesn't feel like a small car when you're driving it. It actually feels more rigid than my 1994 1.6 Sentra. Then again, my Sentra is in need of a fresh set of shocks and bushings...The ride quality of an i10 is a bit stiff, but its well damped, so its quite comfortable;
- Exterior visibility while in the driver's seat is very good. Unfortunately, you can't seem to see the end of the hood, despite the high driving position, so it'll take a little getting used to. This isn't unique to i10 however. I've driven a newer Vios and an Altis, and I can't seem to see the end of the hood of either as well, though you seem to sit lower in both. I'm 5'9" by the way, so I shouldn't be that short.
- It has a real temperature gauge. Not really a big deal, but strangely, late model Citys, Jazzes, Vioses and Picantos seem to have dispensed with it. Call me old fashioned...but I like having a temperature gauge.
- Compared to a Suzuki Celerio, a Celerio has standard dual airbags and ABS, but is more cramped than a i10, and the engine is weaker. The plastic dashboard is of a lower quality, and the rear windows are not powered. Safety-wise, the Celerio seems better, but for practical everyday use, the i10 is probably the better car.
- The i10 has an NCAP rating of 4 out of 5 stars, so its reasonably safe in the event of a collision, if not class-leading. I still wish it had dual airbags and ABS though;
- The seats recline via a lever on the inside (near the handbrake). Takes a bit getting used to.
- The only thing that really turns me off the i10 (or any other small car for that matter) are the steel rims and plastic hubcaps. After some research I think the ideal compromise would be some 14"x5.5" alloys with +42 or +43 offset with 185/55R14 tires. Any bigger and some compromises may have to be made. I would probably look into replacing the wheels/tires after using up the stock tires. I've read somewhere on the net that the standard rims are 14"x5" with a +46 offset. Use this when calculating the optimum wheel upgrade.
Hope some of you would find this helpful. If I'm wrong with any details, don't hesitate to correct me.
