Wow mine is at 102k na, still happy and ok pa din sa torque though iba pa rin nung bnew. Changed my compressor and clean the aircon once in 5 years! hehe. 2 tires na din ang napalitan, 2 batteries and now im using MOTUL crdi specific every 10km. I seldom used this on long drives, pag mga private and personal lakad na lng

My problem would be ung steering wheel, mejo matigas na though na diagnose na to na change ng steering full set nung 70km, tolerable pa. Mejo mahal sa casa ung power steering set, it goes 25k for replacement lng surplus lng and di pa original

If ever you decide to change your steering I suggest you go for the original parts. The steering connects you to the tire and the road and for me I would want something very reliable.

As for the tires and battery usages I guess we both are just on the average.

I have encountered no problem with the airconditioning system up to this time. I guess good regular maintenance will do the trick for our beloved 1st Gen Tux.

On my next servicing, Hyundai Davao mentioned that I need my rear drum brakes replaced and also some parts on the front end. I also had my coolant line checked because I had to fill up the reservoir by around 100ml every two weeks. They found out there was a leak on the line. I had already two complete tire changes. The tires have to be replaced after 50-55k kilometers. I had three battery changes already. The batteries lasted for 2years. Lastly, you won't believe this, I had two windshield changes already. Good thing the insurance company shouldered most of the cost. The windshield costs P25k. I had these two unfortunate incidents of the glass being hit by stone.

The car had been to the tip of Cape San Agustin, Davao Oriental and Glan, Saranggani beaches (South) all the way to Sohoton Caves in Samar and Camiguin Island (North). I had brought it to Dakak, Dapitan, Zamboanga (West) and to Aliwagwag Falls, Cateel, Davao Oriental (East).

It has been a pretty good driving experience. I would say it is battle tested and still going strong. It can still overtake other SUV's even the new ones especially on twisting mountain passes.
    Thanks sir..!
I agree it's a good drive SUV. I like her stability especially in those curves & winding roads. My only gripe with the 1st gen tucs is the 4AT transmission.. I wish & think the 5AT is more appropriate for her especially on those highway runs..

My only gripe with the 1st Gen Tux is that the steering wheel vibrates when slowing down from high speed drive (>=120km/h). Other than that, it is very nimble especially on short distance spurts. I vividly remember one time one Toyota Secoma would not allow me to overtake on a stretch. As we approached a climb I knew it had a big engine but it also has to carry a heavier body weight. On the 1st curve, I was able to overtake it as soon as we made the turn.

We were very happy with our 2007 Tucson, GAS, M/T. Until recently. We only use it in the city. 5 months after the warranty lapsed, we had to replace all the front bushings. Now * 40,000 km, there is a hole in our muffler. Never hit a bump, never took it to the beach. The casa said 20,000 PHP to fix. Took it to the corner shop for welding -- PHP 800 only. Anyone has similar experience? All these years, we took it in every 5000 KM for PMS and did EVERYTHING the casa recommended. Since 1990, have owned a Toyota, a Honda, and an Isuzu D-max (still have the D-max), never did I have a problem with the exhaust system. Now, the aircon makes a funny noise at hard accelaration. Switch the aircon off, and the noise disappears. Casa said around PHP 25,000 to fix the compressor. Mind you, up until last year, we were very happy with it. Hohum. Never buyinga Hyundai again.

Sad to hear about your unfortunate experience with Hyundai. For me, I am still a satisfied customer. The CRDi Tux we bought in January 2008 is still doing great. I had its timing belt replaced already.

    - after 1 week, nawawala yung lamig and amoy purong freon lang lumalabas..
    - then after a week, wala pa rin.. lumalamig then nawawala at biglang mangangamoy na purong freon...

pahabol.. yung time sa tucson ko eh nagrereset minsan or delayed ng 2-3 hrs..

After 5 years (33,000 km), my 2008 Tuc Gas AT needs tire replacement. Any suggestion of a silent tire? Parang sumasayad kasi ang ingay ng Turanza.

    Thanks!

Thanks fior the reply. I already replaced my tire with Yokohama Geolander. For far, tahimik sya. Will post later whether durable sya at tatagal. 5 years tumagal gulong ko (Turanza) kasi 7 km lang ako from work, bale 14 km a day at di ako gaanong lumalayo.

Sirs goodeve. May question lang po ako regarding 2005 tucson 4wd CRDi.

Yung front differential, ano fluid niya?
Gear oil ba or ATF rin?

If ATF, does it mean kapag nag drain ako ng ATF, mapapalitan din siya?

Sirs! Yung tucson po namin is a 2005 model crdi 4wd. We are currently at around 70000 kms.

Does anyone know if the 2008 Tucson CRDi AWD has a Single or Dual Speed radiator fan (lo/hi)?

I noticed that my coolant reservoir dried up last summer and this time again, akala ko kulang lang talaga last year... i noticed the fan works only if the AC is ON. So it looks like the cooling system is boiling-out the coolant. Before I actually did not notice if it is working on two speeds.
Even if the engine is hot and the AC dis-engages(cabin cold temperature is reached) - the fan turns off.
I always knew from other cars that there is always a 2nd (Hi) speed on fans which works if engine temp is high... is this supposed to be the same for my Tucson? or it really has single speed (with AC ON only)... then I might have another problem why I am boiling out the coolant...

Thanks guys.. i hope I can remedy this soon...
