correct ka dyan sir. the very reason why i didn't try to dare to get those speed is because 1. my rims are stock 13's 2.my underchassis is kinda wobbly and throw in the suspension that is biased to comfort. 3. my tires are not suitable at those speeds (wrong speed rating). 4. i have to get off the highway lest i would end up in the next exit. yes, i could top out at 180, if i have enough tarmac and no one would apprehend me...

napansin ko lang, *80Km/h my rpm is about 2000, increment of 500 rpm(2500) = 100Km/h and so the trend continues until you hit the redline of 6000+rpm, the result at about 180 give or take a little.

just want to ask, when running at top speed, say at 180-190 kph, were you alone or full of passengers?

Alone or with 1 to 2 passengers at the most (with no or minimal luggage) and around 33-35psi on the tires... I never try gunning for unsure speeds on the expressway with a heavy load. ;)

The LXi gearing is tall, hirap siya to run on 60kph at 5th gear pag may sakay (unlike other sedans which can cruise steadily at 60kph on 5th on a flat road).

2000rpm in 5th gear is identical to the 5th gear in the 626, diba niky? ;)
surprising that honda put that kind of gearing in a 1.5L engine! of course on paper the 626 doesn't have a lot of HP, but it does have a lot of FT-LB

 siyempre, mas masarap pa rin ang highway cruising ng 626. Haay... kung puwede lang ayusin ng brad ko yung registration! Top speed nung car na yun might be 220 if there were a highway long enough, and the cooling system wouldn't conk out!

Cars with 95-125 hp should do at least 175, up to 190 with good gearing and favorable wind conditions. Claims of 200+ for any car with less than 140 hp are unverifiable because many speedos overclock speeds by about 7-10 kmh. Some European 1.6s are geared to go up to 200 km/h, but you'll need a lot of road to get there.

MT cars with 130+ hp (the Lynx RS, 626, Maxima, Accord, Galant, Civic SiR, most V6s, european cars) should be able to get close to 210 kmh (130mph). Many Europeans are geared to go past this but are limited to speeds between 220 and 250. AT Japs, like the Camry, Accord and Cefiro, are limited to around 190-200, to preserve the engine and gearbox. Lower end AT cars have even lower limiters, around 180+/- on 1.6s.

So the slowest is not the 1.3 or 1.5 economy car... it's really the 1.6 ATs.
