if a compression test indicates loose compression, then a total overhaul might be indicated.

Hi Dr. D, I have 96 vti. Opinion nyo lang sana, kaka tune up at change oil lang dec last year.

white smoke from the exhaust, sounds like coolant (water) leaking into the cylinder.

check if you are losing coolant.

    if you are losing coolant:
your cylinder head isn't sitting well. did they machine the head, because it may have wrapped a bit when the engine over-heated?
    your head gasket is defective.
they installed the cylinder head and gasket, with less than ideal results.
that second engine block might have come from an overheat also!!! did they machine the top, so's the cylinder head can sit perfectly?
you might have a crack in that second engine block, causing coolant to leak into the cylinder.

i am not familiar with those engine blocks. are they that easily swap-able?

Engine oil gets mixed up with gas and air combustion thats why theres visible smoke

Observe your oil dip stick if it gets low much sooner than usual

Engine oil reduce friction to cool your engine otherwise it will overheat

I have cheking the the dip stick for two weeks. There is no change on the level. I took the car to the mechanic yesterday. We turned the aircon on high, rev the engine a couple of times and there is no smoke. The mechanic told me to take a video if the smoke appears again. I think it happens if the engine is cool and the load is heavy.

when oil is burned in the combustion chamber, the tailpipe smoke is black.
if the smoke is white, it suggests water leak, getting into the combustion chamber. check your coolant levels, po.
if it is low, then that white smoke from your tailpipe is probably water vapor. see my comments above.

as long as you are not losing coolant. observe for a few days, if you are really loosing coolant and you have to add more. good cooling systems hardly need topping-up for months to years.

water from the tambucho, is normal, during the first few minutes of starting.
