lately honda's rear end designs have sucked, the city, the accord and even the all new jdm civic's rear
it may still look like it fell off the wrong tree, but at least it looks better than the old one.
matrix CRDi na nga lang ... :D
This car is one of the best I drove, I dont consider it only as a city driving car but an all around car. I was able to drive it twice going up the winding and steep road of Mt. Samat at 60kph up hill with 5 passengers and full trunk load of picnic items. The passengers were also amazed on its performance going thru the winding and steep ride and noticing how the CVT auto adjust to the changing road conditions smoothly, the steering and suspension are excellent. I can even drive with one hand going up and down the mountain road. After one of our Mt. Samat trip we went to a desolate lahar area somewhere in pampanga going through the sandy and rough terrain was not even a problem at 30-40kpm but of course I cannot cross the river going to the other side so its time to head back to Manila. I'm a regular traveller going to batangas by taking the tagaytay, lemery route thru the zigzag road descent passing thru Canyon woods and returning to Manila via same steep route and I have the best drive going up at 60 to 80kph overtaking several cars and the City's performance is at its best roaring to 3000rpm overtaking and making a lead up at a record of 70mins from Agoncillo batangas to Tagaytay rotonda. The best record ever was a 120mins from Makati City to Agoncillo batangas for 122kms taking the SLEX, Tagaytay, Lemery route on a normal day by consumming only 15 liters of gasoline in a vice versa trip of 244kms, taking 4 passengers and a trunk load of items. My best fuel efficency reading as a 21kms per liter out of town, while city driving was 9kms per liter in Makati City. My top speed was a 120kpm at NLEX of course the legal limit is only 100kph. This car is highly recommended and it got the looks of the hybrid cars I saw in the U.S., I like this design more than the City 2006 which looks became an ordinary sedan. Its really the looks, technology, space and the performance that I like in this City 2004. Honda City 1.3 iDSi CVT
nice review! that's why I am very excited with my Honda City 1.3S CVT... sana makuha ko na this week... for me, i like the 2004 City but when the 2006 City came out, i like it more! hehehe....Originally Posted by failsafe

the rear still looks fugly...
the new tail lamp treatment isn't working... in fact it is highlight the ugly butt of the city. the front looks cleaner though... but still not as good looking as the jazz.
whats with honda and ugly butts? the ES civic and even the all new civic have ugly butts, the outgoing accord's butt is fugly and finally the city even with its facelift still looks ugly from behind. hooray for ugly a$$es!
Ugly...hmmm? It's all in the mind. Not only hondas but other brands too. No exceptions. Even BMW's looks are not impressive. Presyo segurado impressive. In short - subjective. Its in the eye of the beholder.
i agree... the looks is still in the eye of beholder... i agree some BMW Sucks even the design sucks... also the are lots of BMW Design sucks from bikes to cars. Its just the brand that u were buying...Originally Posted by lancer

I think the City is very nice. wala naman yatang nagre-reklamo dun sa performance and reliability nya. but on the subjectivity of the City's beauty considering the facelift it has gone through, I recall an anecdote I read once in Reader's Digest:Originally Posted by jamesvhong

Kahit anong ganda ng review, performance and all that, nauuwi pa rin sa "pangit" daw na backside ng Honda City ang usapan, hehehe![]()

Hi,
Re: City 2006. I saw in the brochure that the reason they were able to increase trunk space was due to the "flattening" of the gas tank (there's a term they used, but I forgot it). Based on the explanation, the gas tank is not just underneath the back seat passenger, but almost near the the engine. Hindi ba delikado yun? Hnidi ba mas madaling ma-puncture yung gas tank kasi wider area? I guess 2004 City are the same. Comments naman. TIA

over all i find this car simple so many function and useful... at specially nde agaw thingin... hirap na ma tyempohan ng agaw kotse.
Good for a person with small business... pwede kang mag transport ng mga gamit and when you have meetings or events presentable pa rin hitsura mo with the car.
compare to jazz mas less bumpy and ride with this car, kaso liit legroom good for people with 5'10" bellow na height, easy to drive, nice interior specialy the 1.5 Vtec. i prefer using this than Honda Accord 96 namin...![]()
Honda has done very extensive testing on the crash structure of the Jazz/City.
Most manufacturers prefer putting the tank under the rear seats to maximize rear legroom and to optimize the weight balance of the car. But there's no difference safety-wise between having the fuel tank under the front seats or the rear seats.
Consider, in front end collisions, how many modern cars sustain damage to the front passenger floor? The passenger area is the stiffest in the car, and it's for that reason that most modern cars have fuel tanks tucked up under the seats (whether rear or front).
I think this is an even better idea for small hatchbacks like the Jazz. If the fuel tank were in the back of the small hatch, it would be easier to damage in an accident. Putting the tank under the front seats puts it in the center of the car... as far away as possible from any accidents.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
Nice point. I'm just worried about this new design. Did you find any web site about this test? I'd appreciate it if you can provide the URL link to them. Thanks.![]()
