I'm not a fan of 'idiot lights' and I'm more interested to see what's actually going on with the engine instead of waiting for a light to come on to tell me something has failed already.

I want to put a water temp gauge on a 2007 Honda Jazz (GD body?). I'll probably use the same Circuit Japan Brand system same as the turbo boost gauge I use on another car.

Question: Where is the temp sensor of the Honda Jazz? Can I used it to get readings for the new gauge? Or do I have to put in a new probe? Thanks!

Maybe the time will come, even the speedometer will no longer be standard equipment. Sheesh. I miss the days when cars even had gauges for oil pressure and volts.

Circuits brand uses non electrical probes. It uses old school probes (copper tubing na na me parang conical sa dulo). sa LC71 ko nilagay ko yung probe sa may cyl head where the hosed coming from the heater. so inalis ko yung parang flange and fabricated a new one na match dun sa probe, hth
baka pangit lagyan lang nga ang jazz.hth

Alin ang pangit, yung flange or yung gauge? hehe. Dun sa Circuit turbo gauge yung radiator guy ko ang gumawa ng fitting sa intercooler pipe (wala kasing waste gate ang Patrol to attach the gauge hose).

yung me gauge hehehe. pinaalis nga nung mekaniko yung mga gauges ko sa LC71. para daw jeep hehehhehe. me turbo gauge din ako kasi pag tatlong gauge yung bracket ko. According to toyota diesel forums, medyo mabagal mag react yung temp gauge ng LC so marami talaga nagkakabit ng temp gauge. the other one is oil pressure gauge.

Yes, pati sa 80 series forum may gauge mod din para maging totoo yung basa ng gauge.

Balak ko ilagay sa gauge pod, or pillar mount para medyo sporty. May white face series na ang Circuit, terno sa white gauge ng Jazz.

Someone already did that modification as far as I know.

I'll try to check the water-temp sending unit location later at home.

Just don't be surprised to see how hot the engine is running. The hood disguises the engine heat because of the insulation, but the front fenders do not lie. Touch those after a long hard drive and you'll get pretty close to the actual normal operating temperature of the Jazz L-series engines.

Here's a link for what temperatures to expect.

One of the more geeky approach is to get a ScanGaugeII automotive computer. It can show you the water temp in 1-degree Celsius increments, among others.

I know it may sound like bringing an M-16 to a pillow fight, but if you consider the countless features the SGII has, it might be worth every Peso spent.

"°cWT" is Water Temperature in Degree Celsius

Mukhang hindi papasok sa budget iyan. hehe I just want to know the temp. hehehe. Don't know why car manufacturers think we're too dumb to monitor our own gauges.
