we almost had the same experience with my brothers jazz gd. rried to change cvt couple of times and we even had it for dialysis. wala din nangyari at bumabalik problem. ended up getting a surplus tranny at isahaya banawe. dun narin install.
just used my car recently kaht hindi pa napapalitan trany.. 4x times tumirik! nung una ok pa.. pero nung traffik dun ko napansin na nagloloko nnmn sya from idle and stop and go. nag blink nnman yung "D" and check engine light is on. katakot.. buti umaandar pa after restarting the car!
2010 Honda City sedans have a completely different automatic transmission. It's a standard five-gear automatic with torque converter. The older models were continuously variable transmissions with a starter clutch instead of a torque converter. 2014 and up Honda City sedans use a CVT, also, but with a torque converter for better durability.

anu diff ba ng torque converter sa starter clutch at bakit honda decided to use the starter clutch sa cvt nila? dami tuloy sumasakit ulo ngaun.
marami kasing power loss sa torque converter, kaya gumamit sila ng starter clutch para sa fuel economy. 'engine misfire' yung symptom na parang ayaw umandar saglit . maraming nalilito sa jerking at misfire. common problem yung misfire sa jazz at ang cause ay coilpack or valves clearance. madalas transmission agad akala nila sira. sa banaue nasa 13k at cvt transmission kasama ang installation 2mo. warranty. pag dating naman sa coilpack nasa 4200 ang isa hitatchi ang brand ng original. yung mga local nasa 1500 pero napakadaling masira. binago na ang design ng coilpack dahil sa common issue na misfire. kya make sure mabili mu yung bagong design na OEM. try mu remove negative terminal ng battery for 15mins. then install and drive and observe.
the number of coilpacks depends on the number of spark plugs? tama ba? yung sakin umingay sasakyan ko after start na parang nagkakaskasang bakal kpg idle. sabi ng tito ko parang may crack na yung ignition coil so nilagyan nya ng tape.. ayun tumahimik pero evident parin yung issue ng transmission ko. everytime ramdam ko na "pagod" na yung oto or lets say mahabang byahe na mabilis then bigla stop like sa toll or traffic ayun ilaw na check engine then blink na yung "D".
I still drive the car today pero shorts trips nlng tlga and iwas traffic.. ramdam ko na hirap na and tranny ko at may times na may "kkkrggg" ako na ririnig pag nag gagas to accelerate. ipon mode pa. hopefully next year mapalitan ko na CVT ko.
+1 pati fuel filter din pacheck same as mine jerking sya dati akala ko tranny na yun pala dumi sobra fuel filter di ata nag papalit ng filter dati may ari kakabili ko lang kse nun otto ko last november at naramdaman ko jerking at RPM fluctuation parang sliding na....so far laki improvement nun nag palit ako fuel filter at nilagyan ko fuel injector cleaner para malinis injectors at di mag misfire....
TAMA ito I agree na all jerking ay CVT na kagad ang verdict ng iba pero it could be misfire lang or kulang sa supply ng fuel dahil barado na dumi ng fuel filter or may water sa fuel pwede din so better check it out talaga maigi bago mag decide to replace a certain parts so be carefull during assessment nyo....ako muntik na mag palit ng transmission at fuel pump at coil packs na ang estimate ay nasa 20k petot plus so mali pala dami pa pala pwede panggalingan ng jerking, rpm fluctuation, mataas na ang rpm mo sobra pero usad pagong ang otto at parang mamamatay during sapag abante galing sa full stop.....
