Thanks...

October 31st, 2009 08:22 PM #2Sir anong civic yan? VTI-s ba yan?
A typical JDM d15b would have vtec honda embossed sa black head cover ng makina..
If it's a vti-s, I think yan kasi yung d15b 3-stage. It has a two vtec implementations: vtec-e and wildcam...
If it's an ef,eg or ek (between 1998 and 2000 models), it's most likely a transplant, so you have to confirm if it's the d15b 3-stage...

November 1st, 2009 10:00 PM #5It's simple to tell if it's a d15b 3-stage.
One solenoid = jdm vtec, no vtec-e, not the 3-stage
Two solenoids = 3-stage, with vtec-e (e for economy?)
If it's a 3-stage, lucky you. I heard it's got better fuel economy.
By the way, saang markings ba yung sinasabi mo? You mean sa head cover?

The VTEC-e is the fuel efficient version of the VTEC and was used on Civic VX models that were made to be fuel efficient. The VTEC activates at a lower rpm as opposed to the performance version VTEC. the goal being to give you better mileage rather than more horsepower. IIRC the power should be around 70-90hp, as opposed to the D15B with 130hp.

November 2nd, 2009 05:10 PM #8Thanks sir for the input, but according to this site 115hp po ang d15b vtec-e... http://everything2.com/title/VTEC-E... Sorry po noob talaga ako... Pero mukhang pang economy nga po talaga yung e... Mas ok na po ito kasi mataas ang presyo ng gasolina ngayon... Hehehe...
Buhay na buhay ang BGC this evening. Bukas halos lahat ng restaurants. Sabi pa nung isang cashier...
