April 25th, 2013 02:18 PM #1May problem yung radiator ng Civic 2000 LXI ko, feeling ko di kaya mga long drive.
There was a time na sinubukan kong iakyat ng Tagaytay, then nung malapit na kami napansin ko ang taas ng temperature ng kotse na malapit na sa overheat. So bumaba muna kami para i-check at lagyan din ng water, buti na lang may nagmagandang loob din sa amin na taga doon. so inaantay naming mag cool down yung makina habang continous din yung paglagay ng tubig sa radiator using a hose.
Ano kaya magandang gawin? Replacement of radiator na ba agad ito? or meon pang ibang cheaper alternative?
San ko kaya magandang ipaayos ito? Yung ok gumawa at di mahal sumingil.
Thanks in advance!

Pa-check mo muna. It could be a different problem than a broken (leaking) radiator. Puwedeng sira yung radiator fan motor or a water leak somewhere or broken thermo switch or broken thermostat or (worse) broken water pump.
Kung Paranaque area ka lang, dalhin mo kay Mel Casaba. May thread about him dito sa Honda Cars talk.

a lot of problems can arise from overheat. In your case parang may leak. leak test na para sure. usually bypass hose nadadali kasi hindi gaano nasisilip.

May 1st, 2013 11:50 AM #8Things to check:
1st: Check if your radiator fan is still working. If it does, check if it still spins at the correct rpm. Sometimes the carbon brushes is already worn out and it does not spin fast enough.
2nd. If your radiator fan is ok, check if your thermostat is still open at the right temperature. If it doesn't, replace it.
3rd. If your fan and thermostat is ok. Perhaps the radiator is due for cleaning or overhaul.
