my guess, friction plate material, i.e., brakes or clutch.

or,
the usual odor of something in the engine bay.
the sudden movement somehow pushes the odor thru the small wholes in the engine compartment into the passenger compartment.

does your car have a clutch friction plate? you did not mention your car, kasi.

Have had good luck w/ repos & used cars. 1st I'd do is thorough maintenance check & a fresh service history cycle.
A capable OBD scan tool, paint gauge come in handy beyond ocular & noise checks.

The ASX we got from the repo lot. When my wife opted for a company car, her only option was a Toyota or a Lexus. Lexus is not for managers though. She didn’t want an Altis but the bank said we can get anything on the repo lot.

We were already decided on a used Mazda2 but it was sold as we were processing the company car allocation. The ASX was just new to the repo lot and it was only used for less than 18 months. We grabbed it instead. No issues whatsoever at all. The service booklet was even updated and Mitsubishi Quezon Avenue handed us the new plates a few months later.

Yung tito ni misis bought a used 2014 Forester XT with 40k on the odometer for 650k back in 2019. He was very happy with the performance and utility. Mas maganda daw sobra compared sa luma nyang Innova.

Around 700k selling price ng mga used 2013-2015 Forester XT. Good buy lalo na kung kumpleto yung maintenance records. I bet the 2016 Civics (FC platform) would be more expensive than that.

Honda SPA diagnosed mine, on the spot. Pinapabalik lang ako kapag approved na extended warranty claim and andun na yung part. Recommended na din nila isabay linis ng aircon.

Not sure if I heard it right, but sabi ng SA, 6 digits daw yung compressor, wtf? I will verify once may papers na.

my 1.08 pesos' worth,
if the problem is a standard part only and not honda-specific, and the extended warranty isn't going to cover the repair, i'd probably bring it elsewhere.

i just had my entire compressor (innova's) replaced at banawe.
the unit cost me 13.5K, and it took about two hours of downtime, including the testing and diagnosis, and the requisite "tawaran".

Nagulat ako kanina pag open ko sa side mirror ung passenger side maingay. ung pag close normal naman. Ano kaya prob nito?ty!!!
