July 26th, 2010 08:57 PM #1hi guys and Honda experts, may mga tanong lang po sana ako about ph15 engine. carb type po ba sya or may efi version din xa? sa anong model po na civic nakalagay ang mga engines na to? and if ever may carb type sya, pwede po ba xa i-convert into an EFI?as in papalitan lang ung intake manifold pati throttle nya? thanks in advance, hope to hear from you soon.

The one in my old SX8 City was fuel-injected. Not sure if there was ever a carbureted version.
You'll probably have to swap out ECUs also if you're planning on changing fuel systems...the ECU controls fuelling and it's programmed into it (hence the old Honda acronym PGM-FI).
By the way bawal ang text speak

ang alam ko lang na may ph15 carb yung sa mga lumang civic (1991-1993). pero marami ding civic of this generation na naka ph15 efi na din (1993-1995 ESi).
you can convert a carbed ph15 to efi but medyo mahal. the difference in fuel economy won't be that great too. parang ganun din, tipid lang ng bahagya. so hindi mo na mababawi ginastos mo sa conversion.

ang alam ko kaya carb type ang tawag kasi yung intake ng PH15 is card type or butterfly. pero EFI na rin yung PH15 like the LXi and ESi.
basta may injectors sa may fuel rail... efi na yun. sa auto code, basta may "i" yung dulo ibig sabihin "injected".
pero kung may carb talaga na PH15, pwede naman swap that to efi.

PH15 came in carb and EFi
1992-1995 civic LX - PH15 carb
1996-2001 civic LXi - ph15 / PH15A EFi
1997-1999 City EXi - PH15 EFi
pwede iconvert ang carb to EFi, but the cost will be much higher than buying a surplus D15b or PH15 non vtec EFi engine.
You need to replace the following:
INtake manifold assy
throttle body
distributor
various sensors in the engine block
Then you need to provide the following also:
Engine harness
ECU - to be rechipped and reprogrammed if you want it to run efficiently
pwede din stock set up but you have to replace the entire cylinder head assy from a PH15A including the harness, intake assy, distributor and ECU.

July 31st, 2010 03:41 PM #8sorry for the text type message.... new in here. ano naman po ba ang advantage if magpapalit g cylinder head ang engine. for example, ang ph15 na base engine ay pinalitan ng v-tech na cylinder head? would the v-tech work? thanks

^^ your car would have more punch in higher power band. yes it would work but you need to change the ecu also... p08 programmable would do.
the head would have different cams... get the 20 cams v-tec head to feel the difference. pero kung low rev driving, baka hindi mo mafeel.
