No impact. We used aftermarket oil fliters on our previous 2009 Jazz 1.3L. I would say that Honda’s L engines is quite robust and can take abuse from owners which are not particular to PMS.

With regards to Honda casas, they will not allow you to bring in your choice of oil and filters. However, Honda’s FS 0w20 oil is quite good.

Yes that is what I saw and if im not mistaken it is around Php2,400 total so Php600/li. I'll still think about it if I will be using that one or just mineral oil. So viscosity 20 or 30 is okay with this L engine how about FC much better with 20?

Honda uses the 0w20 FS oil across all of its gas model lineup, even the bigger engines (R20, K24, J35). No difference in fuel efficiency between 5w30 and 0w20 viscosities in our observation with L13 and L15. The engine warms up faster though with the 0w20.

If you want to use mineral oil, Honda still offers its 10w30 mineral oil in 5k km or 3-month intervals. That is less than 300 per liter.

I checked today, gen 1 & 2 is using same fuel strainer

Do you mean all stock? Yes it is.... the car has not been modified. My only complain are the tires they are michelin and not deestone lol. Thanks for the headsup on the fuel filter I think this better be oem when replacing.

Well, Honda has been using that 0w20 viscosity for some years now and nobody was complaining. There are much harsher conditions than our climate and such a viscosity was tested properly. It might be hot and humid in our country but there are much hotter places in the US like in the deserts of Arizona, Nevada, and California.

Saw this at fb page. I will be facing the same dilemma when I schedule my pms at the casa. Aside from the obvious oil and oil filter change what should I retain from the list? This is for 2nd pms odo reading 11k.... and is it acceptable to decline some of the items with your SA? as to not have bad impression from the SA.

you can skip the engine flush and fuel treatment altogether.

I am also a bit suspicious of the 1L coolant top up as from experience hondas and toyotas very rarely or at least takes years before a coolant top up is needed.

If you do regular 5000km oil changes your car will run fine either with semi-synthetic or mineral oil as long as they are within spec in the manual.

you can save a lot in costs.

i would decline the engine flush and fuel treatment.

i will also decline the brakes. even if the price seems competitive.
i have negative experience in casa brakes job.
"sinabing ginawa, kahit hindi naman ginawa."
when i had it done in banawe afterward, because i was advised that the brake pads were getting kinda thin... tanong nga ng mekaniko, "lumusong ba kayo sa baha? kelan ho huling na-linis ito?"

i add my coolant at home. no need to bother the casa for it.

i use mineral oil and have oil change every 5000 km.
it is my belief that frequent oil change removes more effectively, the metal filings suspended therein.

If you noticed the 1L coolant has no price in it so maybe its free top-up? Yes, this one uses fully synthetic so I can request for mineral oil instead.
