April 24th, 2006 02:42 PM #22yeah i agree. Leftmost lanes of major highways are supposed to be for overtaking only. A few months back I was in China and was surprised to notice drivers keeping off the leftmost lanes unless overtaking. And those who are overtaking turns on their right signal light once they're in view of the vehicle they are trying to pass. Kaso kaya pala ganon, they have cameras all over the highway. Pag nag violate ka, huli ka agad pag labas mo ng toll gate. Ang the fines are pretty hefty. Sana ganon din dito para matuto yung mga super geniuses on the road!

Of course, may speed limit , pero relative sa section ng highway ang limit, minsan 100 KPH (Max yata to sa NLEX), pero may 80 KPH din somewhere.
Sa US, you can exceed the speed limit up to 10 MPH at the most. Pag masama naman ang weather, you're supposed to reduce the max limit to 5 or 10 MPH yata. Sinasabi naman kung kelan reinforced yun radar or camera monitoring, so you'll know when to speed up a bit or when to abide, just don't over do it. At one point in time, ginawa din dito yun radar monitoring, sa SLEX. Not sure kung meron pa din nito up to now, kasi bihira naman ako sa SLEX or NLEX.

Left lane is overtaking only. Even if one is running at the upper end of the speed limit, he/she is not entitled to stay at the left lane.
There are situations wherein even when running at the speedlimit, overtaking is still required. Example, when you and a gravel and sand dumptruck are running at the speed limit and the truck is pelting you with gravel and sand, your instinct would be to overtake and give adequate distance between you and the truck before going back to cruising speed.
That is why the left lane is kept open. My own classmates have that annoying habit of staying in the left lane cruising 80-90kph. Kahit pagsabihian mo parang hindi pa din naiintindihan.
And if someone blows past on the left side running at 180kph++, it is not our duty to enforce the speed limit. Just yield.

we can make a lot of interpretation eh:
> yung iba ayaw tumabi if you give them a flash - feeling artista yung mga iyon, akala na-kodakan sila. hehehe
> yung nagbababad sa leftmost lane, akala nila safe sila doon kasi isang side lang ang hazard for them which is their right side. They dont realize that they pose a much greater danger if driving at low speed sa left lane.
> siguro di nanghuhuli mga NLEX patrols. dapat kasi, active sila in monitoring those kind of drivers. Kahit wag nila multahan, i-hold na lang for say 1 hour to undergo some driving rules review/orientation. Baka nga first time nila matutunan yun eh.

April 25th, 2006 04:49 PM #30right on the button bro! isang feeling artista at isang feeling ewan...
medyo out of topic pero what about those driving school cars na sumasabay sa highway (C5 and EDSA) sa umaga at hapon? mas nakakairita yun mga sirs!
Puwede i try, 1. Palit air filter 2. Linis throttle body 3. Linis MAF sensor 4. Check spark...
high idle RPM at engine start
