personally speaking, i commend the guy for his act. it may be futile and insane to others, but to me, it was bravery and courage. perhaps he was acting on his principles or just plain too arrogant to be held-up by people smaller than him. the good fact is, he died fighting, he died for a cause and he died almost instantly, with the littlest time of suffering. he may have died for a few pesos to some, but that few pesos may be priceless in terms of principles and dignity. i'd rather die this way than by torture, cancer or any other disease. to his family, it is indeed a terrible loss. but look at it this way, be proud of him instead so the pain won't be too much. and always think that he's in a better place now. he's the lucky one. while we're still stuck here in this crazy world. buti na rin lang wala pang anak yung guy, otherwise, medyo stupid na ginawa nya. hehehe. kidding. good things always come out of bad things in a bigger way.
this is the way of the filipinos , the law protecting the law breakers ,yang opposition gnugulo ang lahat ,yang gobyerno pinoprotektahan lang yung mga naka pwesto ..suggestion lang po.. tangalin nalang ang batas palagay ko mas tatahimik ang pilipinas, kung lahat tayo klanya kanya nalang ng armas , para pag may problema barilan nalang o d hindi pa sisikip sa trafic ang kalsada .. basta ako tatayu ko buss. funeraria ,,.cgurado dami laging patay ,,palagay ko tatahimik ang pilipinas..
well, we have a mandarayang gobyerno, and an opposition consisting of former marcos cronies........ what do you expect? sunugin na lang lahat ng kurakot at mandaraya sa gobyerno, para mabawasan abusado!
the guy is into kendo kaya lumaban.
yes, this is a sad story.
but we can also think about the thought why they were there.
a better question would be.. why did they have to walk along Gov. Forbes (they came from Dapitan) going to Espana..when they can pass through the campus.
answer: Students are not allowed to pass through the hospital when they want to go inside the campus (this is their only possible route.)
and i wish students will be allowed to pass through the hospital.
Sorry ha, kasi mukhang magka-halong krimen at pulitika itong thread na ito based on the posts. So in the end, I think the conclusion is: si GMA ang pumatay dun sa kawawang estudyante. Tama ba ang pagkaka-konek-konek ko?
Just like the director from ABS-CBN who died acting as a peacemaker, these pinoys who have spent parts of childhood in the US are more principle oriented than most pinoys who grew up locally. In a society which largely behaves as if laws were meant to broken, such acts of bravery are treated as foolhardy and a warning for others not to stand up for themselves. The fact that most of the criminals are never caught or are able to escape prosecution only serves to make their sacrifices meaningless. It wasn't always like this in the past but our willingness to forget the sins of Marcoses and other famous people has come to haunt us. Criminals (big or small) now believe that they can get away with anything. We have to take our own means of protecting ourselves and our loved ones because the government neither cares or does do enough to do their job of preserving peace and order.

bender.....what is the principle behind fighting a group of holduppers? i just dont get it......di ko talaga maintindihan yung prinsipyo against fighting men with firearms/bladed weapons eh......pasensya na.....Originally Posted by bender
could you please elaborate more......
i dont like to hear my fellow physicians treating/operating on fellow tsikoteers for gunshot/stab wounds just because they want to hang on to their vehicles or cellphones......
I think coiter is just making it easier for the bereaved to digest what had happened.
It just like seeing the glass half empty or half full.

a simple principle that whatever wrongdoing, be it big or small, should not be tolerated. unfortuantely, consequences happen. and who knows, that may be the act that earned him his salvation. :angel2: peace!Originally Posted by moneywhiz
i remembered too when i was still a stud there.. while waiting for a ride at the corner of espana and forbes at around 8 pm, na holdap din ako dyan. wala lang akong nagawa kaya bigay ko yung college set ko (set of mechanical and drawing pens), a sports walkman (uso that time), two hundred pesos (allowance ko sana), and a set of compass (pang drafting).
Is trying to do what you think is right no longer an acceptable principle nowadays? Is trying to prevent bad things from happening to you and your loved ones no longer worth fighting for? I think those are worthwhile principles especially when you see a lot of these incidents happen over and over again in the same places.Originally Posted by moneywhiz
When those who are supposed to uphold the laws are either the ones who break it or are too lazy to enforce it, what are we supposed to do? Are we going to allow ourselves be victimized by criminals because we should put our trust in the police, the military and the government who are not worthy of respect and unable to perform their responsibilities?
Regarding vehicles, tsikot is a forum about vehicles. the reason why we go to this site is because of our love and passion for our vehicles. You ask why people here don't want to give up their vehicles so easily? This is the wrong forum to ask such a question.
Cellphones? the cellphone is disposable but the information is not. Most people don't back up the information on their phones and if they lose the phone, the information is lost or hard to obtain. At least, that's what i think they should be thinking about when they are in a situation to lose their cellphone.
And that's exactly what happened to this poor guy. Kailangan maging practical ka rin. Karate versus a Berreta? No way, Jose. FPJ Boxing versus a 12-inch balisong? Take your chance, Pidro.Originally Posted by bender

Sad to hear incidents like this, hindi lang naman isolated case yan. There is no police visibilty kaya malakas ang loob nilang mangholdap. (That's a lame excuse).
