Vehicle falls from Skyway; 4 injured

AT LEAST four people were injured, one critically, after vehicle fell from an elevated portion of the south Luzon highway Tuesday afternoon, a traffic monitoring officer said.

An Isuzu trooper slammed into a Toyoto Fortuner causing the trooper to hit the railing and plunge from the Skyway, said Orly Lanuza of the Philippine National Construction Corporation Traffic Monitoring Center.

The trooper then fell on and crushed a private jeepney or minibus, Lanuza added.

Authorities have yet to identify those injured. Three of them were brought to the Villamor Hospital, he said.

The incident is causing a traffic build-up at the South Luzon Expressway, Lanuza said

The Trooper slammed to a Fortuner then Trooper yung nahulog sa skyway? Ang labo nung balita. I wouldn't be surprised kung yung Fortuner yung nakabangga sa Trooper kasi apparently yun yung nahulog e.

Most of the time kasi yung reporters don't know how to identify cars correctly e.

Anyway, this is what happens when you are around idiotic careless drivers. Imagine kung ikaw yung nabangga or nabagsakan, nanahimik ka tapos biglang, blag!.

It's a miracle none died. Thank God!

HP, I didn't read the rest of the pages. I just based my reply on the first post. I wonder why the images did not show damages on the vehicle sides? Bakit may tama rin yung Fortuner sa likod?

Fortuner driven by Mr.Quintal (Editor in Chief of a local car mag, C! Magazine) was speeding, lost traction, spun 360 then hit a trooper in the process.

because of massive impact, Trooper went overboard the Skyway.

Trooper fell atop a jeepney, killed a jeep's passenger in the process.

not that i'm siding with EIC of C! involving the accicdent. since both drivers of Trooper & Fortuner were claiming they were cruising at legal speed. could it be possible that the driver of the Trooper might be sleepy thus affecting his reflexes and judgement when suddenly the Fortuner appeared at his side? Well, having realized this, might the driver of the Trooper abruptly manuevered the vehicle to avoid collision and thus, careening out of control?

As for the driver of the Fortuner, having noticed that the Trooper was hogging his lane, but no time to avoid it- but tried it anyway- has spunned his vehicle?

kung 80 kph takbo niya, i doubt if a criminal case of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, physical injuries and damage to property were to be filed, he'd be convicted. kung sakali, simple imprudence lang at hindi reckless yung ginawa niya. pero may civil liability siya for the damages incurred.

malas lang talaga. i heard on the news kagabi that the railings on the skyway are not designed to withstand high impacts but are still within int'l standards kaya dapa ingat lang talaga.

Advice to people who will encounter wet roads

It isnt that surprising if you think about it. People are probably hammering C!'s webserver with "waste" traffic so pull down the page.

In all fairness to Kevin Skyway is crap at high speeds that's why Skyway has the gaydar gun and the speed limit. If some yahoo feels like he's Smucker then prepare for the worst.
