Actually mahirap yung situation na yan. parang yung example ni papao. nasa 2 lane part siya ng expressway. then may dalawang magkasunod na bus sa right lane travelling at 85 kph( for ex.) what if im driving a not so fast car travelling at 90 kph. My intenion, ofcourse is to overtake the two buses by using the left lane. at 90 kph it would take awhile to overtake the two buses so i would at least try to go up to 100 kph. but what if a blazing SUV travelling 130 kph with flashing lights, suddenly pops up on your rear view mirror, while your only half on your overtaking task (remember: 2 buses)
    what will I do?
I dont want to block the SUVs path and irritate him, but i also dont want to force myself to go faster than my normal speed.

Actually, simple lang naman ang dapat gawin. FLASH THE RIGHT HAND SIGNAL LAMP to acknowledge that you have seen the other vehicle and will yield at the next safest oppurtunity.

NEVER attempt to brake to get behind the buses. You will only cause a more dangerous situation.

As a rule of thumb on the highway: ALWAYS YIELD TO THE FASTER VEHICLE. It is no longer your discretion whether he his running at supra-legal speeds or not.

And yes, the left lane is the PASSING LANE. Never cruise the left lane unless you are more than positively sure that you are running faster than everyone else and you have the power to pass them.

Doon nga sa lubak lubak nagumpisang magcruise yung ibang drivers sa left lane, ang sama kasi ng daan noon. But now that the NLEX is world class na, I guess they have to reeducate the drivers to leave the left lane open for overtaking only.

Pinas has one of the worst driving cultures around, so you just have to let this thing pass by and enjoy another drive the next day.

I just came from Subic last night. Sorry to say, a lot of drivers really don't care if the delay other people. They just go cruising along on the right most lane even if you blink them.

btw... what I usually do now is to stay in the rightmost lane (on the 4-lane portion of the NLEX). only a few vehicle do venture there (and I can overtake more safely).
