We were on our way to Punta Fuego yesterday when we encountered a light traffic at around 9:30am in silang, cavite. What seemed to be a minor accident from afar made me open my windows and take some pictures with my camera...

not far from the toyota was a ten wheeler truck blocking our side of the road. A civillian immediately helped out facilitating the flow of traffic since it is only a two lane road.

tsk tsk tsk, was someone hurt? The toyta has suffered some major damages but how the heck did that truck turn on its side? Looks like the toyota bumped into the trucks front wheels causing the truck turn...

what was beyond the truck shocked the crap out of me... I can still hear the wailing of the girl squirming her way out of the window beside of what seemd to be a lifeless human body. A man was crawling his way up to the truck and there's this man at the side (right side of pic) who was crying so loud I can't even make out the words he was saying. When he saw me with my windows open he started to walk towards me. His forehead was covered with blood and he was missing a shoe. . .

My mom and I were so shocked with what we've just seen. We were so thankful that we were delayed a few minutes at Mcdonalds-LagunaBelAir or else we couldv'e been hurt in that accident....

ILD, I thought everyone in that van was dead! Then on the news they said that 2 died and 18 people were hurt. Seems that the driver of the truck had problems with his brakes. He ended having a broken leg or sumthin...

Problem with the brakes again, IMO, they should change the law so that not only the driver but the owner of the truck be held responsible for such accidents. A lot of assholes out there are only after maximizing their profits and skimping on much needed vehicle maintanance expenditures. I should know, I used to work for one, whenever one of the drivers of my ex boss mentions repairs or check up of the delivery trucks to him, he would yell at them. "Wala akong pakialam sa repairs, basta ideliver niyo na yan at marami pa tayong pending.", and even if business was slow, he'd still have a handful of excuses.

Actually a lot of people were helping. I wasn't able to take pictures kase papalayo na kme. Yung mga tumutulong were on the other side of the van kaya nde kita sa pic. After about 2kms nakasalubong na kme ng mga police papunta sa place nung accident.

The only help i could think of was prayer. I did nothing but pray for those people immediately.

My uncle assured me na may malapit lapit daw na hospital dun sa area na yun...

Just wondering... You think it was because he felt it was inappropriate for you to be taking a picture while he was suffering?

If I were just in an accident I'd feel kind of irked if I saw passing cars just taking pictures.

No offense ha, just playing devils advocate

actually i've thought of that too, kaya nga isa lang picture ko ng mga victims. Kaya lang naman ako nagpipicture kase i thought it was just one of those accidents na may nakabalandra na truck. I never expected to see a van full of victims. But, andun na eh, it was like 6 feet away. I just documented what happened.

Yung mga photojournalists kaya? do you think they offend people by taking pictures...? ang hirap ng work nila... (Just thinking aloud)

ts1n1ta: Looks like the truck ran over the van at high speed... innocent lives are lost. Another senseless accident caused by a unfit driver. May they rest in peace.

    BTW what happened after?
