ang masakit non pag nabangga mo sila then magbubukas sila ng headlight. ang labo noh.
sir, keep your cool. you don't have to lose them really.
remember the old saying "ang pikon ay laging talo..."
but i must say, most of the time nakakabwiset talaga ang mga yan, lalo na ang mga PUV driver. pero would you know that even if they might be the worse driver, you have to understand that they too have families to feed.
it would be pointless, to lose your patience to them. downright stupid i should say kasi wala namang mangyayari talaga. want me to prove it to you, one time mag-commute ka then have a friendly chat with a jeepney driver or taxi driver. malalaman mo kung bakit.
the best thing to do is, umiwas ka na lang sa disgrasya.
ok ba?
Just be alert all the time to avoid accidents. We couldn't control those bastards but we could do something to avoid accidents. Pasensya na lang brod.
i think the reason that they turn off their headlights at night is for commuting people to see kung saan ang biyahe nila. hindi kasi makikita yung nakapaskel sa windshield nila pag nasisilawan ang mga nag aantay di ba? what they are doing wrong is kahit umaandar na sila wala pa rin headlight. they should turn it off only when they are about to stop to board passengers.
That's a good observation, bro.Originally Posted by wac3
But at least, they should keep the parking lights on, or maybe use those low intensity parking headlamps like those on them old Ford Lasers and VW Beetles.
Furthermore, they could also rig some kind of lighting for the plackards on the windshield, without blinding themselves and the rest of the jeepney's occupants.
However they resolve this for themselves, driving w/o lights is a major offense and should be made punishable to the full extent of the law. The blatant disregard for public safety is a matter that should not to be taken lightly.
Sir can you elaborate? Ok given na yun na mahirap sila, and they have a family to feed (lahat naman meron) but why skimp on a pair of bulbs? IMO if they can't follow a simple regulation how can we expect our country to improve? Isn't it their responsibility to themselves, their passengers, and fellow motorist to be responsible motorists? ill have to agree with ian rex....pag nakakawentuhan ko di lang mga jeepney drivers..pati taxi..sasabihin nila "iiwas naman yan eh"...or...wala yan..porket mayaman nagagalit sila"...mg ganung tipo.THEY JUST DONT CARE and we cant do anything about it kahit na magalit tayo ng magalit.
Just an opinion...their station in life does not in any way excuse their total disregard for rules or public safety. I think people will give them more respect if they have more respect for others using the road.
Yan ang reason kung bat madaming accidente... "THEY JUST DON'T CARE" specially yung mga Trike drivers, ang bibilis humarurot walang ilaw, walang pake.![]()
and to be fair, meron din namang matitinong public transport drivers, konti nga lang![]()
but safety is safety, MMDA/PNP-TMG/LTO/local city traffic enforcers shouldn't let this pass. tayo maingat, sila hindi, threat sila sa atin, sa pasahero, at sa mga tumatawid.
btw, why do they turn-off their lights? would this significantly prolong battery life?![]()
akala siguro nila tataas ang electric bill nila kapag binuksan nila headlights nilaOriginally Posted by 9MX

that's a BS attitude. not only do they endanger, perhaps kill other drivers or pedestrians that can't see them, but also the lives of the people that ride their vehicle. i guess they don't feel like they have any accountability for whatever happens.

and do either of the ff:
1. hihirit ng, "boss pasensya na"
2. will insist sa police/traffic enforcer na ikaw ang may kasalanan, as if this will lead to something.
imho, it really pays to get comprehensive insurance for our vehicles. let the insurance companies deal with them :car:
come to think of it, they (the jeepney drivers) may have found an ally in insurance agencies. tingin ko sa BF, gus2 na talaga sila i-phase out andOriginally Posted by 9MX
mag-come up ng much more efficient means of public transport. pero talagang nagtataka kumbakit andyan pa din mga rolling coffins na buses & jeepneys.
How does that work?Originally Posted by oldblue
In my town, some people have also been trying to abolish tricycles for public transport, but it's obviously going to be an uphill battle for them. The main thing is if you can't find a substitute means of livelihood for the "little man" (small business operators, emplyees, and their families), you're basically throwing them out in the open and leaving them to fend for themselves with nothing.
I don't think that would be good for the crime rate. Neither would it be a humane thing to do.
baliktad yata bro. diba insurance agencies want less accidents, because they end up paying the bills? ;)Originally Posted by oldblue
I think what he meant was that "insurance companies have found an ally in the jeepney drivers." The more of these fender-benders happening, the more willing a private vehicle owner is willing to shell out for comprehensive insurance.
Now, whether or not it's more profitable for them to have a greater volume of comprehensive insurance policy sales, rather than have less payouts to make, is another point for debate.
