Look like sawdust/sand to absorb the brake/hydralic fluids from the wreck...

Yes true. I've noted the group of cars in front, not yet swerving to the side, around 0:26. Around this time I would've lifted the throttle. Problem is the Starex on the right played a factor. Not sure if I would be able to brake and swerve to the right behind the Starex. I wonder if the Starex had some damages as well.

Another SUV plunges from Skyway; people debate over what really is to blame
by Vernon B. Sarne - 2 hours ago
Just 10 days after a Mitsubishi Strada breached the railing of the Skyway on the South Luzon Expressway and nearly took a plunge onto the ground, a Montero Sport did the same last night, sometime between 8pm and 9pm--this time consummating the drop. According to witnesses who sent us photos, the location was near the place where the Strada incident had occurred: in Bicutan near the tenement area.
A follower of our Facebook page indicated that "the patient is alive and conscious, and was brought to the hospital." Said Facebook follower added that an ambulance of Lifeline Rescue "responded to this incident."
We've lost count of the number of times a vehicle managed to break through the Skyway's safety barrier. And now, netizens are arguing as to what's really causing all these Skyway accidents. Several factors have been brought up as probable causes:
* Inferior-quality railing;
* Nonstandard railing height;
* Irregular patch on the Skyway pavement;
* Strong crosswinds;
* Reckless driving; and
* Mechanical failure on the part of the vehicle.
With all the accidents and the damage to property and human lives, we wonder why Skyway management hasn't conducted an authoritative test simulating said accidents. As they say: Once is an accident; twice is coincidence; thrice is a trend.
More than thrice is, well, sheer negligence

This is just me, but as an occasional Skyway user, I'd have a totally different orientation when using the Skyway. My driving habits usually involve using landmarks like building, intersections, natural structures etc... to orient myself. In the Skyway, I'd have to rely on the signs & I am not used to the landmarks as opposed to using the ground Slex. Maybe accidents happen because drivers dive faster here & have to suddenly change corrections because he is unprepared for the exit ramp.

July 19th, 2015 11:06 AM #118If that happened on a friday or Saturday maybe the driver was drunk after a few hours partying.
Crosswinds in that area are strong but not enough to bother an attentive driver. Maybe the montero driver was on the phone and distracted which caused him to swerve.

What more kung buo na ang slex to nlex na skyway.
Baka maging daily occurance na ang laglagan.

But there are ample signages, to miss it i think is kasalanan mo na.
If you're a newbie passer (not referring to you BTW) much more na mas mag ingat ka dapat and be mindful to signs etc signs.
Some drivers tend to think their cars are invincible, drive like there's no tomorrow.
Everytime i pass skyway lagi ako may nakakasabay na ganyan, usually SUVs masyado tiwala na safe sila kahit hataw ang takbo.
