anyways, dont blame the tires...any speed above limits is suicidal. imho

yung sa video, suicidal din yun. imho

249 km/h on a Civic? Not a stock one, obviously?

If you're doing any sort of high speed high performance driving, buy the best tires that you can. Helps if they're low profile, so the change in handling when you get a blow-out is not as big as with a high-profile tire.

I love my Advan Neovas. Expensive as f**k but they've never blown on me. I'll only realize I have a nail or a steel shard in one after a week's time, when the air runs 1 to 2 psi low. I've had to vulcanize my tires a dozen times already due to nails and debris that went all the way through the tire... but I've never had a single one go flat.

The guy driving the Subaru that crashed on EDSA was a racer.

"Professional" race car drivers (and I use this word loosely, because there's such a broad range of race classes to cover) are just people. Some of them are careful on the road, because they've worked out all their adrenaline and aggression on the track. Some of them can't quite scratch the need for speed.

As always... it's not the speed that kills. It's the sudden stop at the end. Having a blowout at high speed won't kill you. (And I've seen blowouts at 140-160 km/h) But if you're maneuvering recklessly at the same time, don't know how to handle the car, or are speeding around slower moving traffic, you're definitely going to be in trouble when it happens.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Nangyari yung accident 2.30am ata(basta early morning) kaya sobrang luwag ng SLEX nun, lalo ngayon pa 4 lanes na, but unknowingly kahit naman sino satin siguro wala makakaalam kung kelan sasabog yung tires natin. Ayun ang nagcause ng accident nila. Isa pang mali eh sumabog yung gulong nung time na sobrang bilis ng takbo nila. Mga ma'am and sir wag niyo ako awayin, this is just what i know and opinion. Yung sa video naman edited yun. The video was posted how many months ago pa.

hindi naman sa inaaway ka. the thing is sinabi mo na marami inggit sakanya which is laughable. walang maiingit sa posser and lalo na patay na.

then sa accident niya, if he is really a racer as you claim, alam niya dapat gagawin kung sumabog goma.

hes not gonna get sympathy from me.

Ditto on this. As heavy as it is on the pocket, i really shell out for tires since i drive on the highway a lot and this includes relatively high speeds and moderate to heavy loads at times. I nailed the edge of an almost new tire recently and i still coughed out the extra PPP to buy a new tire instead of having a patch job dangerously close to the sidewall; if you want to play, you gotta pay the extra for peace of mind.

*nc28: Wala naman nakikipag-away sa yo pards. Its really just the words you posted na "inggit" and claiming that he is a racer hit a bone since a lot of the posters here have condoned what the (RIP) guy did when he first posted the video months before (kahit edited, it was still dangerous driving if you look at it). There are a good number of guys here who are weekend racers and actually drive fast on the roads but you wont see them posting on YouTube and praising their addiction to speed the way the guy did.

As for tires blowing up and tire condition, in all cases i've had a bad tire (bukol, low pressure due to nail, etc.) I would either detect it through regular checking of my air pressure, visual inspection once a week, or would always feel it through a different tire noise when driving or different feel with the car when i hit uneven road patches. One just has to be extra conscious on those things if they are the type to push the car hard.

I'm not after your sympathy sir and the guys here in tsikot.

Ginawa niya yung video to have some fun para sakanya ayun ang fun, he loves editing pictures and videos ang alam ko. Nung pinost niya yung video sinabi niya rin na it was sped up and the sound was edited. I don't know why people gets mad on what he did with the video. Anong mali dun?

Like what i've said sa post ko he was speeding so fast noong sumabog ang gulong niya and as you've said also, accident yun, walang nakakalam what happened kung bakit sila tumaob anong ginawa niya o nataranta narin siya. Who wants to die at an early age diba? What i want you and people here to understand is to know both sides not just your own opinion na galit agad kayo sa tao na wala naman ginawa sainyo at namatay na nga sinasabihan pa ng kung ano ano.

Thanks bro. Sorry if the word inggit. Pero that's what i can see kasi, bakit madami nagagalit sakanya eh wala naman ginawa siya mali sainyo? Meron ba siya nasaktan at nabangga sainyo? did he include on his posted video "kaya niyo ba gawin ito?"?

He's in peace now and let's put this video into peace too.

Egads they wear out fast. How many kms do you squeeze out of them?

Was he using China brand tires? I doubt if they have anything that can handle 249Kph. Even with the top brands you have to take a close look at the claimed speed ratings.

Even if you are a pro-racer, if the blow out happens at a bad moment, you might not be able to do anything but hold on and wait until the car stops on it's own.

I have had a tire "explode" when I was on the expressway. I used up over 500 meters to slow and stop my car gently with minimal use of the brakes. It was good that I had the prescence of mind not to immediately try to stop the car when the tire "exploded".

After exiting the car, I found that 3/4 of the tire thread peeled off at 110kph due to a factory defect.

That is the normal trade off if you have high grip tires, the threads wear out faster.

You cannot have a high performance car without high performance tires to match.

There are traffic rules which govern the use of public roads. His flaunting it like its a game angers people who respect these rules. Your safety and those of other road users should be paramount everytime you drive your car. His death because of his indiscretion only serves him right.

Can't believe how some youths of today can idolize an idiot like this.

kaya lang galit sakanya mga tao dito is because how he drives... not caring if he hits some other innocent car/family na might be coming home from work or vacation then having the misfortune with him.

really, who would wanna die young pero on hows hes driving... i think hes begging for it.

i was also told by my cousins how to stop a car with blown tires. if he was too close to calamba or nichols exit, then i would understand. but by how he drives, no comment na lang.

*Niky, yep, AFAIK loaded yung FD as per SG na din. ;)

*nc28, it's not that we're arguing with you. The term naiingit isn't just appropriate. Sa tingin ko, the mere fact that he posted that reckless video of his eh, pagmamayabang na yun. How ? Why the heck will you post a video wherein you're breaking the rules and/or putting your life at risk ? Diba, para you'll have this bragging rights ? ...

*nc28: a lot of people here hate him because he's putting everyone on that road in danger including himself by doing his stupid and reckless stunt. if he was doing that on an empty road or on the track we wouldn't care. i admit that i break the rules every once in a while, but i always know my limit and only go fast when i have no passengers with me and barely any traffic. also i only go a certain speed that i know my car is still stable and can handle easily even if some thing goes wrong.
