(which, i suspect, is the hidden reason why they insist on plate covers..)
    heh heh.

Ayun nga, after a month na walang plate cover, faded na. Kailangan namin ata kumuha ng new plate.

you do that... request for replacement plates. kapag sinita ka "for faded plate", ipakita mo yung receipt for new plates request. lusot!

If you're concerned about the fading issue, you can get a clear coat spray at any ace hardware branch. 150 lang bili ko. I think it can help naman.

Plate covers are like seat covers.

Pero may mga taong OC, just want to maintain the freshness of their car seats, or just plain ayaw nilang magdeteriorate agad car seats nila agad-agad. Yearly kung mag pa detail, leather seat covers on top of original leather seats, contoured car seat covers to cover plain-looking and/or boring original car seats. I even know someone who put fabric seat covers on top of original leather seats dahil ayaw nila yung init ng leather on a sunny day.

On the same vein, may kanya-kanyang valid reasons to cover the car plates. Para di agad mag fade. Para di mayupi. Para di mapunit. Para di makasugat. Para pumogi., etc. etc. Some people naman need the protection coz they “abuse” their cars more than others do because of the nature of their work. Mga nasa construction, mga nagtatrabaho sa pier, mga nakatira sa tabing dagat etc., where the plates are exposed to severe elements -- kaya they need the protection more.

Meron naman walang paki sa plates nila kahit kalahati na lang natira dahil napunit na yung kalahati, for whatever valid or invalid reasons.

Who’s to say which one is the best practice, huh? I’m sure di naman dumami ang mga kampon ng nag-ca-car plates dahil lang na brainwash sila ng <insert your favorite car plate brand here> manufacturer into buying something which has no practical utililty?

^^^ Quite a strange logic there. People need to understand that plate covers were not designed to protect license plates, they were designed to avoid being caught.

Primary purpose of a plate cover is to:
    1. Limit visibility of a license plate.
    2. Reflect (traffic) camera flash.
    3. Limit efficiency of radar speed guns.

It's the same with tilting brackets for license plates. They don't really improve a vehicle's drag coefficient.

And do people also need to understand that nuclear fusion was not primarily exploited to be used in nuclear power plants as an alternative power source to lighting up cities? That, initially, Governments were mainly interested in nuclear fusion for weapons / war / military / killing purposes, and it was for these purposes that research moved forward?

So you are implying na kaming walang car plate covers ay walang pakialam sa sasakyan?
