July 12th, 2014 03:51 PM #433LTO permit needed for modified vehicles - Journal Online
SEEK permission from the Land Transportation Office before modifying your vehicle.
This warning was aired by Land Transportation Office (LTO) spokesperson Jason Salvador in the wake of reports that some car enthusiasts have modified their vehicles without permits or clearance from the agency.
Salvador, in an interview, cited Department Order No. 2010-32 which states that any individual or manufacturer should first bring the vehicle that will be modified to the LTO-Northern Motor Vehicles Center, under Engineer Joel Donato, for inspection.
“We are taking the safety of the lives of individual, the reason why the agency has been very careful and strict in vehicle modifications,” Donato said. “Kaya nga gumawa pa ng DO dahil buhay nga ang pinangangalagaan dito ng agency.”
Donato said that under the DO, not allowed are axle modification, chassis modification, extended chassis and body, additional sidings of dump trucks, extended overhang, change of rim size, modification of handle bar and muffler and reconfiguration of body dimension and design.
“Higit po sa lahat, kailangan pong ma-inspection ang isang modified vehicle,” Donato said.
Donato said all modified vehicles proven to have violated the guidelines shall be put on “alarm” and may not be registered.
“Kasama din po rin sa rules na bawal ’yung mga Highly Intensity Discharge o (HID) headlights,” Donato said.
In short, pag tinapalan mo sila ng pera, green light ka na magmodify to death, kasi ka(buhay)an nila ang pinangangalagaan ng mahal nating mga taga-LTO..
O ano, ready na ba mag rally ulit?

ang magandang gawin ng lto yung plate number mo will be your plate number regardless magpalit ka ng sasakyan you still keep your license number..easier to trackdown the owner pag may aksidente..
parang mobilphone number ..you keep the number kahit magpalit ka ng cp

For all their supposed diligence and concern on safety.... you see accidents-waiting-to-happen PUJ's with multiple violations plying the streets.
Very careful and strict? Uh-huh. Suuuure.
