January 5th, 2013 06:09 PM #61Haha.
Solution?

Last edited by stickers; January 5th, 2013 at 06:47 PM.

January 6th, 2013 07:44 AM #66Right of way, sa taxi.
Right hand rule, favor sa taxi.
Unsafe turn, talo ang SUV.
Swerving, SUV.
Last edited by Noel Salisipan; January 6th, 2013 at 08:03 AM.

We also use that U-turn pag namamalengke sa Farmers. Ako, personally, before I proceed, I make sure na naka-STOP yung oncoming traffic kasi nga, incline yan. There's no way for the U-turner to see kung may parating or wala kahit mataas pa ang sasakyan mo. They can fly if they want basta ako, I will not put anyone, above all, myself and my passengers, in any danger, most of all avoidable ones.
Unfortunately, bobo yung driver ng SUV. Probably uneducated or some addict na tambay tapos ginawang driver - or equal in lack of brain power.
It is rather unfortunate na marami ang di nakakaintindi ng right of way. Kaya dapat talaga every renewal ng license may exam kasi yung iba nagsuhol lang. It is a good way to weed out the bad eggs. It would also discourage the patron of the fixers kasi siempre, bayad ka every 3 years. para ka nang nabingwit ng BIR crocs nun kasi siempre gradual ang increase ng "fees".
The taxi would just need an average lawyer kasi sya pa ang kinasuhan eh dapat sya ang nagkaso. Anyone with fair knowledge of traffic rules and common sense would be able to defend the driver. Tigas din ng mukha nung SUV driver and owner. EDSA yun so obviously, dapat mabilis ang takbo mo. Assuming green light sya, there is NOTHING wrong with him driving at that speed. Besides, mabagal lang takbo nya, mga 60-70. Higher, and he would have crushed his entire front section. Mabigat yung SUV at magaan masyado ang vios, obviously, due to PHYSICS, ang tatalsik yung lighter one.

I was in a similar situation before, not far from that area. I bumped a vehicle speeding out of the u-turn slot without even slowing down or stopping (back-up Innova ng isang PNP general so syempre, gusto niya iharang para makadaan yung primary niya). I never agreed to paying anything despite their claims because I held right-of-way being on the main road, and I gave all effort to slow down, stop and avoid the collision but there was no other way to avoid the reckless move of that motherF****** (had i not stopped and avoided, i would have been the one broadsided definitely). Buti nalang front bumper ko lang yung sira that time.
Anyway, for me the mistake of the taxi was that he was driving too fast and not being careful. Had he been slower, he could have avoided the SUV. Possibly the SUV misread the speed of the approaching taxi. Our traffic laws and thinking is really as screwed up as our licensing process to qualified (and more, unqualified) drivers.

Tama sir.

Somewhat expected from a rushed car from a first time carmaker
