dito palang sa subdivision namin at sa kapit subd you will see:
09 Starex VGT's (escort vehicles palang mga eto may mga wang-wang pa!)
Fortuners, mag sawa mga mata nyo. Hilux
08 Trailblazer
New model Expedition and Everest
Alterra
The new Montero, Pajero and Outlander
Nissan Navara and Patrol
Santa Fe
300C
BMW 3 Series
Gosh, none of these vehicles are even below the P1.1 mil mark.
I'm paying a 7 digit figure in annual taxes and these are the hogs I see who are stealing our hard earned money?!? I don't even know why the govt doesn't regulate on the type of vehicles they should be driving. Wala man lang base model. Sometimes I see them parked inside the mall at opening hours. Makes you wonder what they're conducting there?

ang expensive naman ng mga gov't cars na ito! to think it's the taxpayers money that was used to purchase those vehicles. yung mas mura nalang sana binili nila kasi same lang naman purpose nila -- to take them from point A to point B.

IMO they can drive whatever luxury car they fancy, as long as they get the job done....unfortunately pati yung simpleng bagay na gawin ang trabaho eh wala double whammy si Juan dela Cruz

July 3rd, 2009 07:45 PM #17Not to defend the government, but not all red plates are for government-issued vehicles. Legal issues aside, my friend was given red plates for his main vehicle after a botched kidnapping attempt. He declined to have assigned bodyguards as he wanted to keep a low-profile. So the PNP chief at that time suggested using red plates as a deterrent against potential kidnappers.
He put them on his SUV - not a top-of-the-line luxury model nor an entry-level. Just a 4x4 that can go over center islands if it becomes necessary.

Even if they get the job done that's no reason for a Govt official to be rewarded for doing a job they were assigned to do. Remember, being a govt official is a life of servitude. You work to serve your country and not the country serve you. They're not kids that need a "reward" for doing their obligation.
