i always follow 'no right turn on red' ... kahit busina ng busina ang nasa likod ko, di ako gagalaw ... unless cyempre pag ambulance o police car yng nasa likod na naka code 3 (sirens, light, etc).

below are re: sa mapsa (not on NRTOR)...

[QUOTE=icon]Was flagged down by mapsa around 9pm as I turned right from makati ave to jupiter. Ang violation daw beating the red light. Didn't know it's actually used in that sense[QUOTE]

Woh, we turn right at that area all the time, sometimes even with several cars while the light was already red. Were you Northbound (to Mandaluyong) or Southbound (to Ayala) from Makati ave when you turned right to Jupiter?

in my case naman, coming from ayala, i turned right at makati avenue (ung corner ng PLDT) and was subsequently flagged down by a MAPSA personnel. hinihingi ung license ko. sabi ko bakit? sabi sakin bawal daw kumanan dun kasi nakared sa ayala. sabi ko yes i know it's red signal pero wala namang sign na "no right turn on red signal". bigla namang sabi nya na "eh sir dapat pag ganun you should not block the intersection para kasi green ung sa makati ave. dapat indi kayo pumasok sa yellow box". sabi ko naman na i wasnt blocking the intersection since i didnt stop naman inside the yellow box. he keeps insisting on looking at my license. i just showed it to him pero indi ko binigay tapos inulit nya ung bawal daw kumanan (wala namang sign) and keep intersection open daw dapat (indi naman ako huminto sa intersection). i just told them since wala naman akong violation and wala silang proof that i did any infraction iniwan ko nalang ung mapsa dun!

It happened to me too dyan sa Makati Ave. cor. Jupiter. But I insisted that there was no sign saying "NRTORS". Hence, you can turn right anytime with care. Tapos, ang violation ko raw ay "OBSTRUCTION", dahil I was obstructing the flow of traffic. So I defined to him kung ano dapat ang obstruction. HINDI, dahil I was turning right with care.".
Then, he asked for my license trying to look for some violations, i.e. expired license. Nung walang makita, he let me go.

there was this one incident a long time ago na nangyari sa akin. on paseo de roxas, turning right to legaspi, meron NRTORS na sign. naabutan ako ng red light, so huminto muna ako. yung car sa likod ko, busina ng busina sa akin. so ang ginawa ko, bumaba ako sa car at tinanong ko sya kung marunong syang magbasa while pointing to the the NRTORS sign. tumahimik naman.

    hehehe.

Same thing here, coming from Coastal Mall along Macapagal Ave., turning right to EDSA extension, there is a NRTORS sign. I was the car in front so I stopped. The intersection was clear as our traffic light system is not intelligent and the Pajero behind me was flashing his lights and honking like hell,- so, I 'cleared' the right turn lane for him. Lo and behold!,- the traffic enforcers are waiting for their lunch! Huli ka! So, when the traffic light turned green, I turned right and saw this poor person 'negotiating'... hehehe.

On hindsight, I really do not totally blame him. Our traffic system is not intelligent and therefore not maximizing the use of a premium intersection. So, I if I am sitting there waiting for the green light and I see that the intersection is empty the whole time, my patience would 'naturally' run out. IMHO, there should be no NRTORS signs. Like in other countries, it should be Right Turn With Caution (& With Discipline)... when the main road is 'empty'. But we all know that here in the Philippines, he who has the lane a split second before you, even if merging, has the power....so, it will NEVER work... Kaya cool lang tayo!

It varies from state to state. But, the normal rule is, unless there is a sign saying "No Right Turn On Red", you can turn so long as the way is clear, stopped first on a red light or stop sign, and yielded to whoever has the right of way (like say, a green left arrow for the traffic opposite you, and you'd be at a red light anyway). was northbound to mandaluyong. which makes me wonder bat dun sa kabila walang nanghuhuli. mas maliwanag siguro sa kabilang side and mas may activity with the restos and mercury drug right by the corner.
passed by the other night and saw the mapsa there again nag-aabang. same guy who flagged me down was there. haha.

magulo talaga dito sa atin, sa right lane must turn right naman eh may makikita kang going straight. minsan pa kahit maluwag yung ibang lanes, type lang nyang nasa rightmost lane.
