August 21st, 2008 07:08 PM #23on the xx months requirement for SA to be able to open CA:
requirement talaga sya ng mga banks... i'm not sure but i think the policy is from the central bank...
but:
if the branch manager can vouch for you personally - like kamag anak ka ng isang preferred client nila na regular talaga ang transactions.. then this can be "waived"...
overall, having a good relationship with the branch manager (or the asst branch manager) will help a lot in facilitating transactions...
opinion ko lang po.. mas magiging "valued client" ka nila kung may loan ka sa kanila ... sa interest payments naman kasi kumikita ang bank eh... hindi sa deposits... their deposits are just their source of funds na ipapautang sa mga may loans... bottom line is, they get their revenues from the loan interests... yung ibang bank charges din but di siguro ganun kalaki..
and, a tip although wag gagawin to unless really necessary:
try being late (or worse not paying on time) on your loan payments and interests payments... i'm sure you'll catch their attention hehe..

I work with a local bank and it is true that with big banks like Metro and BPI, clients become mere numbers most of the time. At the end of the day, it still boils down to the branch manager abilities and the people under him/her; irregardless of bank. You can also expect more personal treatment from new branches or small and medium sized branches.

While it is true that clients become mere numbers sa big banks, dont forget sabi ni TS withdrawals niya is in 7 figures. Well in that case dapat noticed na un ng mgmt and those among us who do business with banks knows the diff a preferred client gets with regards sa service.
Eh iyun ngang withdrawal/deposit ng more than 500,000 kailangan ng ireport sa Anti Money Laundering ek ek e.
Bottomline, sumablay ang manager sa pag monitor ng clients niya.

Makapangyarihan talaga ang words na "Account pull-out" at "Cancellation of service"
Hanggang ngayon, offline pa rin ang ATM ng BDO. It's been a week already.

To TS, kung malapit ka sa Parc Chateu sa Ortigas, I'm happy with PSBank Ortigas Branch. The manager is very kind, pati mga staff nila. Mas konti pa tao. Subsidiary nga lang ito ng Metrobank, so kung talagang galit ka kay MBTC, eh di idamay mo na rin ang PSBank. My home loan is currently with them.

Sigurado naman papayag yung branch manager dun na hindi na mag appearance for the opening of a new checking account yung TS. Prerrogative ng branch manager kung susundin nya ang protocol or not.

Firstly, to the TS, Friend, you've just made yourself an open target.
If you go to GOON SQUAD HQ page, there is an on going thread there where someone hacked his way into the account of a member, grabbed the member's mobile number, pretended to be MASTER JEDI and started soliciting money for a personal cause. Nanloloko ng tao. I repeat, the impostor HACKED his way into this member's info HERE ON TSIKOT. Please go and read thread.
With you broadcasting that you widraw 7 digits, you have made yourself an open target.
Just remember, This is a PUBLIC Forum site. I can still read your posts even if I did not log-in.
To this I will agree. On-line banking may make things easier but ask yourself, is it safer? It's no different as to when we apply for a job on-line. They will still ask for a personal appearance.
We get AL-Jazeera News here and one of the news item we saw was how a woman, wanting to go to Beijing for the OLYMPICS, lost US$7,000.00 from buying tickets on-line. By her accent, I'd say the victim was AUSTRALIAN.
There are many more instances where people lose large sums of money going on-line than doing things personally.
MY ADVICE : Find time to go to the bank yourself. I'm sure you won't loose a lot or your employees won't skip if you weren't in the office. Hey you found the time to post a thread.
