January 18th, 2010 09:06 PM #51Just want to help others out with this.
We already settled our bill of 76k with the maynilad
Some steps we did:
1. Just pay the amount on how much water use for the next month. So that water will not be cut-off. I think they gave you 2 to 3 months for this.
2. Ask the person who deliver mail or the person that will come to inspect the water on who to talk with in their office.
3. Send a letter to maynilad or the person will make it faster.

January 21st, 2011 03:24 PM #52*d_9 I'm having the same issue with Maynilad. Our bill is usually 300 pesos and then I got a 10k bill Dec 2010. I've gotten in touch with customer service and i've gone to the branch that services my area but until now I have not received a resolution. They are as expected insisting that I pay for the bill which I haven't. I only paid the usual amount we consume so the service won't get cut off. I'm wondering what resolution you were offered by Maynilad.
Thanks!

Yes they matched. Long story short, we reported a leak in the pipe exiting the meter the same day we noticed. It was not a huge leak there was just drops of water leaking when we open the line (we make it a family habit to close the main line every night to avoid exactly this type of situation) but just the same Maynilad sent people to fix it. They had to pull the meter off to fix it and put it back. Following month, I get the 10k bill. New bill actually was delivered today and it's at 2k. Still relatively high but not ridiculous like the Dec bill. Total usage is 205 cu m. My usual is around 20 cu. m

205 cu. m. malaki yan for residential. do you use a booster pump that's connected to the main line? kasi dati ganun set-up ng water line namin, kasi sobrang hina pressure, so what i did was install 2 free flow tanks and let it drip very slowly the whole day then the pump draws water from the free flow tanks. it cut our water consumption by about a half. 2 months later maynilad inspector comes and asks how come our consumption went down. so i showed them our new set-up. he just scratched his head and went away....
industrial rate pala sa amin kaya mahal pero from the usual 150++ cu. m it went down to 90 to 100 cu m. so. malaki din nabawas sa sobrang ikot ng meter. our household is 5 in the family, 2 maids and about 10 stay in crew.

January 21st, 2011 04:56 PM #57No worries. We'v not experienced losing water, humuhina pero never talaga nawala. Nkakaasar lang kausap ung staff ng Maynilad when I complained about the bill. What they're saying is their meters are either in perfect running condition or it literally stops working. They do not think their meters can never be inaccurate. It's been more than a month and I still do not see an end to this problem. Nasasayangan ako sa time I spend talking to them over the phone and visiting their branch. That's why i'm interested in the resolution provided by Maynilad to the OP.

January 21st, 2011 05:03 PM #58No booster. Straight from the line. We have a tank but we never really used it regularly kasi OK naman ung water supply. There are 7 adults and 3 kids in the family. On a normal day there will be 5 people home coz the rest are working. 205 cu m is unbelievable, we've no pool, we don't even wash cars at home, sometimes we even send laundry out.

sir, malaki ba effect ng booster pump sa malaking bayarin sa tubig? we have a large tank that will automatically be filled when the float inside drops at a certain level, triggering the pump to suck water from the main line into the tank. hindi ko lang alam yung frequency. hina kasi ng tubig namin. pero hanep sa bayarin!
pero oks lang, sabi nga ng iba: di bale ng mawalang ng kuryente basta merong tubig.
