para sakin dapat tinawagan mo muna si *wulf and inform him na may another party interested and offering a higher bid. then give *wulf a deadline. nasa sales business ka I know and understandable naman na time is money. tingin ko naman maghintay pa ng isa pa araw yun second bidder. or unless nasilaw ka sa extra 20k?

that's being a responsible salesman, imho.

i think the problem here is just lack of communication and trust on both parties, you cant blame both parties since they don't knoew each other. i think mr rams morales has saired his side and i think he didnt do anything wrong naman.

ei,guys. wheh, haba na pala thread na to!sorry ha, have had 4hrs of sleep only for the past 48 hours, i'm still rushing something for submission.looks like we're gonna work throough lent...

anyways, here's how it went: usapan namin ng owner i'll come back wednesday (we met on a monday) cause i'd only have the ready cash on monday cause the checks w/c were paid to me by a client were deposited only that morning...why would i say that i'll pay tuesday when i know full well that i can't fund the check nor w/draw? mr morales suggested that i give a deposit...i apologized to the owner & told him that i don't have my checkbook on me nor do i have any cash...i'm not familiar w/ the area & didn't think there was any ATM nearby (valenzuela po ung place)...he said it's ok, come back wednesday then....that same i night i asked him if i need to give a deposit & how much he said, ideally, yeah, & it should be 40% (!)..since i had a coupla meetings the ff day i told him that since i'm buying it outright cash on wed & that since we already have a gentleman's agreement (the owner & myself) maybe that's ok...he said no problem...the ff night when mr morales finally called me after i texted him during the day to fix the door & the hood and also to detail the car (we can confirm this cause i was at st luke's visiting my wife's lolo, he called the SLMC trunkline, i'm sure it's on the room's records), that was when he dropped the bomb on me about the "problems w/ the papers, it's still under the bank's name & there are 4 deeds of sale attached to it...blahblah...the owner changed his mind about the price, it's now back to 480k." i asked him if i can go and talk to the owner to reconsider, he said "baka makulitan." i told him i'll wait then (just to test him), then he elaborated on how it will take weeks to fix, and he has to use his connections,etc....naturally, i was disappointed, but, hey, what was i to do?but i had this growing suspicion that something was amiss...and the more i thought about it, the more convinced i got...that was why i posted this thread

now i respect a person's right to make money, but there are ethics that we should follow (even in sales =D )...sure by law it may not be binding, but to me, if you give someone your word, that's binding, unless that someone does something to make you take back your word...maybe it's naivete, but i always assume that a person is an honest one unless he proves otherwise, relative or no relative...

btw, he never mentioned anything about another buyer...one word like that & i would have made excuses to our clients (i hope they won't read this..hehe) and drove as fast as i can there...400k for a 97 safari?are you kidding me? but since the owner and i had an agreement, i was very complacent...

btw, thanks to those who defended me when i was offline and couldn't defend myself...God bless

so a man's word can no longer be his bond in modern day business...that's all it boils down?

oh okay, naive na rin siguro ako. usapang lalaki kasi so i was expecting that it should carry all the implications of the word. oh well.

mr morales texted me yesterday telling me the car is still available for 480k...not knowing whether he had already read this thread or not, i told him my budget remains the same, & even if i wanted to i couldn't cause i had to pay my kids' tuition...

also, during the 1st part of his post, he said i made him wait for 40min...how could that be possible when i just went to his shop on a whim cause i brought my 4yr old to therapy at 4pm, & i just figured if i go straight to his shop i can make it back by 5pm to fetch my wife & kid...i only told him i was on my way when i decided to go there...i was there in 20min (morato to monumento)..i even had my 5yr old daughter w/ me, who was so bored waiting for him while we were at the owner's place she fell asleep, and i was carrying her the whole time i was negotiating w/ the client...
there's the rub,guys...i'm back to work..no sleep yet...some of us have to work an honest, ethical living...peace!
