guys, just wanna share: last monday, i texted someone w/ an ad here in tsikot for a 97 safari selling for 480k. he said the car is just in his shop. so i went to his shop to check out the unit, left at 4pm w/ my daughter, figured we'd be back by 5pm to fetch my wife & son. when i got there, the guy said the safari is still w/ the client's place w/c is 20-30min away.since i had to fetch my wife, i said another day na lang.but he was insistent,so i said why not.we already traveled for 20min,what's another?so off we went.

when we got there, the safari was parked outside, dirty & obviously unused. he went inside & got the keys. the car wouldn't start.i inspected it,the driver's panel was almost ready to fall off.the back door paneling was also in bad shape. the hood was misaligned.i couldn't wait to get out of there. i told the guy i have to go to fetch my wife na. he asked me to wait,he'll just return the keys. he made me wait for 20min.i kept texting him, "sir,i've to go".finally he came down w/ the owner & his entourage.the owner had the batt replaced. since he went to all that trouble, i indulged him & test drove it around the block (couldn't help but notice that the horn was a siren...hehe).the owner was a portly chinese man w/ blings all over .apparently,he was a big supporter of a controversial, losing presidential candidate & bought the patrol to be used as an escort during the campaign. he seemed nice enough so i asked him his last price.he asked the agent who responded, 480t.i thought about it,then asked him if he'd consider 400k.he laughed, fell silent for about 30seconds, then said, "why not?i just want to get rid of it.i've 4 lexus in my garage & 2 other patrols. i'm not into selling cars, i just want to get rid of it. just give my agent a commisssion & we're ok". i couldn't believe my ears!i thanked him profusely, told him i'll be back in 2 days to pay for it & couldn't give a deposit coz i had nothing on me, no cash or check. he said it's fine, just coordinate w/ the agent. i couldn't help but call my wife & tell her the good news.t'was a blessing, i thought.

on our way back,i brought the agent back to his shop.he was telling me we could sell it for 420k right away,i'd make money instantly. i said i'm not into buy&sell,& the car is perfect for our need for bigger space & a diesel ride (not to mention limited budget).

so the following day, even though i wanted to go back & give a deposit, i couldn't cause i had 2 presentations w/c i had to work on.i tried contacting the agent though cause i couldn't get the excitement out of my system.no luck.so i just texted him if he can already get the unit & detail it (fix the misaligned door & hood coz he had a detailing shop).that night he called me & said, "oh,there's a prob w/ the papers, its still w/ the bank w/ 4 attached deeds of sale,etc...also,the owner changed his mind & brought the price back up to 480k...wanna hear the good news?i already fixed the door & hood & detailed everything." i was flabbergasted!i didn't want to think the worst about the guy but i think it was obvious that i was getting screwed out of a deal that was rightfully mine!i wanted to go the owner & confirm but i haven't had time all week...i even came from an out-of-town shoot that had me coming home at 4am this morning...and when i woke up to get my morning dose of tsikot, what do i find?nothing really, just the same safari, now in good condition, selling for 550k, under a different name! hmmmm...i don't want any trouble, but unethical practices like this shouldn't go unpunished, lest they continue to screw others in the same manner...so there...sorry for the long rant,guys...what do you think i should do?
