Dump truck collided with jeep full of kids :(

binalita yan kanina sa tv patrol, nong makita ko nga yung driver ng dump truck, napamura ako sabay dapat sa kanya pugutan ng ulo. sabi nya lumusot daw preno niya, hayup na yan! alam mo na pa lang me diprensiya preno mo, magpapatakbo ka pa ng mabilis.

Hmm... la na bang updates? Coz... these could be a reason:

Ang moelye (muwelye, or however you wish to call it) ng dump truck sobrang sensitibo, pag biglang preno ang driver, 90% chance na maputulan sya. Pag putol ang moelye, hirap na sa kontrol ang driver. Pwede nya pang maiuwi o maidala sa pagawaan pero kelangan sobrang dahan-dahan na lang ang takbo at wag nya ng ibyahe ng malayo. Plus, sa oras na maputol ang moelye, mahihirapan na ang driver na pigilan ang truck nya kahit maganda pa condition ng preno. Possibility is, alam na siguro ng driver na naputulan na sya ng moelye, binyahe pa rin. Nung banda sa accident area, possibility biglang preno ung owner jeep, sabay ung truck driver inaantok na at nagmamadali ng umuwi kahit may tama na moelye nya (considering na gabi hanggang madaling araw nagooperate ang mga dumptruck normally), biglang pumreno, kaso dahil sa kundisyon ng truck nya, di na nakatigil. Nasagi owner tuloy-tuloy hanggang sa mga nadaan nya pang mga sasakyan.

Fault ng driver ng truck kung ganito for driving a not-in-condition-to-run-truck sa daan. Saka kung icheck mo ung rim at dumpbox halatang kulang sa maintenance to. Dilapitated na talaga. Plus ung dumpbox nya sobrang taas (common ngayon) in a way na dagdag bigat + takaw huli sa NLEX + hirap patigilin ng truck.

Kung may mali sa naipost ko or may kulang (na alam ko meron), post na lang po mga chief. Sir woulfe27 update kung maka-usi ka pa po. Hehe...

ADD: Pag "lumusot" ang preno, ibig sabihin madumi na preno nya. Di na makahigop ng hangin pang-preno. May paraan naman para mabyahe mo pa ung trak pag magkaganyan pero di talagang adviseable na itulin mo pa ang takbo mo.

it didnt help any that the owner type jeep does not have any safety devices at all. given that the truck was 100% at fault, the accident could have been less tragic if those kids were protected inside the owner. unless the government stops allowing these to travel on our roads, we will see more and more of these tragic accidents.

RIP to the kids and motorcycle driver. To the truck driver dapat i-ban na yan sa kalsada... revoke his drivers license without the chance of getting a new one.

3 dead, 11 hurt in Marcos Highway collision

Three people were killed while 11 others, mostly schoolchildren, were hurt during a multiple vehicle collision in Antipolo City before noon Thursday, DZMM reported.

The fatalities were identified as Fernando Baylon, Nestor Reto and John Kenneth Taroy, 12.

Superintendent Roman Desumala, Station 1 chief, said a dump truck (UGG 881) lost control and rammed the owner-type jeep (DLM 510), which carried schoolchildren, at 11:30 a.m. along Marcos Highway in Barangay Mayamot.

An Isuzu Elf water tanker (UCC-990), a jeepney and two motorcycles also crashed onto the jeep.

DZMM reports said Baylon was driving one of the motorcycles while Baylon and Taroy were both on board the owner-type jeep.

Police have yet to name the injured.

Just saw this sa news. As the truck lost control, it also crossed na pala the highway divider and went head on to opposing traffic, hitting 1st the owner jeep, motorbike, tricycle, then the water truck.

I remembered, at EDSA, a bus also lost brakes, and the driver tried to stop by ramming against a pillar for a flyover still under construction. It still crossed the highway and hit head on a Nissan Vanette on the opposing lane. The driver, an engineer on his way to work, was killed instantly.

This reminds us that life is really short, and that we need to make the best of the time we are given.

I've watched this on the news, I really pity the victims...... and shame on the truck driver.... I don;t think it would be an accident if he knew how to drive carefully.

may the fatalities rest in peace. and i hope the driver gets what he deserves - life imprisonment without parole. these dump truck drivers are really notorious for being reckless/undisciplined on the road.

and i agree, let's not turn this tragedy into a religious debate and not readily blame God for these bad things happening, anuman po ang ating mga paniniwala.

I do not want to turn this into a religious debate pero i can't help but notice the irony...hindi ka pala naniniwala sa Diyos, bakit Siya agad sinisi mo?
