September 12th, 2018 11:45 AM #1394Balita na yun?
Also I don't understand, even in Metro Manila, the design of those plastic barriers is good if you put water in it. Pero karamihan, even yung nasa main intersections, walang lamang tubig.
I think better yang plastic barriers na yan kesa sa concrete ones when you think of safety and ease of use. For longevity syempre mas tatagal concrete ones.

September 12th, 2018 01:05 PM #1396Those concrete barriers can cause a car over to flip over if you hit it at a bad angle.
Hindi naman human error lang involved, what if you need no take emergency evasive action pag may motor or bus na alanganin mag cut or whatever, tapos masagi mo.

September 14th, 2018 10:36 AM #1399Location: at the intersection of Kalayaan Ave. and J.P. Rizal extn. Time and date stamp on the video is accurate. MY direction was from Pasig area going to C5.
At the 30 seconds mark, you'll notice that the Vios and Ertiga (I think) already stopped on the pedestrian lane, a sign that the red light flashed on their side. You can also see that the green light is lit on our lane.
Unfortunately, the Ertiga tried to make a "dash" towards JP Rizal extn. while we are starting to move, and the Vios followed but making a U-Turn.
I honked at the Vios because obviously what he did was wrong, but I let him pass. After he passed, he tried to cut my lane and do a "Brake Check" not once, but twice. Somehow provoking me or something (based from what I feel) 2nd Brake Check hits the jackpot.
You'll also notice that he is starting to open his window the moment he was able to make a U-Turn, probably to argue with me or give me the "finger" while I am moving. The driver reaks with road rage the moment I stepped out of the vehicle, his first question to me was "ANONG PROBLEMA MO" (what is your problem?) at a very intimidating tone. My response was, "Ang problema ko, mali yung ginawa mo" (My problem was that you violated the traffic). I asked why he has to cut me, he said he was trying to give way which is why he was trying to stop. I told him that if he plans to give way, he should stop towards the right side of the road, but his arrogance and tone of voice was nowhere near sensible, so we just waited for the Police to arrive and mediate.
I showed the investigator the video and they came to a conclusion that the Vios was at fault:
- Passing thru a red light
- Obstruction to traffic
- Failure to submit OR/CR
If there was no video, I will be on the losing end, but because the video doesn't lie, it saved time for the investigator to ask us questions.
Again, kudos to SPO2 J. Lopez of Makati Precinct 8 for escorting us from the location of the accident all the way to Malugay Traffic Division. And PO2 Baggayan for being fair and calm while assessing our case. I was under the impression that I will have to shell out some cash for all the assistance that happen, but lo and behold, I didn't spent a single centavo! (Good to know that the system has greatly improved).
Final word of advice: Be a defensive driver (which I failed to do), always bring the necessary documents (OR/CR, etc.), keep calm, Get a DASHCAM that captures HD videos! It will save you you tens of thousands if a similar accident like this happened.
As promised, here's the video from my... - Philippines CCTV & DASH CAM Spotted
