Not necessarily poorer maintenance, but mas pagod aircraft ng budget airlines. They need those planes to be always in the air.

Read that the aircraft departed late from Manila to Narita because the original aircraft's air conditioning was not working, so Ceb pac management changed aircraft.

I've been watching Air Crash Investigation. Mostly mga budget airlines or mga airlines na hirap kumita or palugi na will increase the preventative maintenance interval. Sometimes not following what the manufacturer recommended. Sometimes yung mga inspection that needs to look inside a metal via expensive machine for cracks and metal fatigue, nauuwi na lang sa visual inspection. Dahil nga sa budget constrains. Also the quality of pilot they will hire will sometimes depend on the salary they are willing to give.

At sabi nga, an airplane parked on the ground is an airplane not making money. This reminds me of that Indonesian airlines na puro sakuna, they were banned from using some European Airports.

Update: Plane landed safely in NAIA airport at June 5, 5:20ish PM. Finally got out of the parking area at 7:00 PM. Thank you all for the concern! Right now, someone reached out to us from Cebu Pacific to look into this (thank you!). Will update everyone. Just need a full and recovery rest since we have to go back to regular programming.

    P.S.

Natawa lang ako na may nagcomment sa FB post niya na don't be surprised, budget airline yan! Para bang if you buy cheap, you should expect shitty treatment.

Hindi pwedeng hindi sumunod sa manufacturer’s recommended maintenance mga airlines, other countries will now allow the airline to fly their planes in and over their territories. Yung pag hire ng under qualified pilots pwede pa makalusot, but the maintenance are strictly monitored.

I remember this one episode, the engineer recommended to replace the part kasi malapit na sa limit. That means the plane will be grounded for for days. The engineer on the next shift re inspected the part and since within limit pa he changed the recommendation ng previous engineer. So the plane was allowed to fly again without replacing the part. Kaso the part gave out before the next preventative maintenance resulting in plane crash.

medyo sigurista yata mga local plane operators natin.

    so,
did these occur in budget airline units, or did they occur in non-budget airline units?

the most famous, pioneering case of metal fatigue, was with a plane owned by non-budget BOAC.
a JAL plane also figured in sub-optimal plane repair.
just as a prop plane was owned by a losing small company.

    googling,
budget airline planes, when they fly, appear to be as safe as non-budget airline planes...

^ and I think competent mga aviation mechanics natin kaya maganda Ang safety record Ng mga local airlines natin.

Iyon nga Lang, may konting dearth Ata mga experienced aviation mechanics Dito Kasi in demand services nila abroad.

Ang napansin ko madalas may crash Dito sa atin iyong mga small planes owned by aviation companies and aviation schools. Not sure if human error especially iyong mga sa student pilots or mechanical Ang problema.

Ang safety record ng airlines natin dito sa Pinas is at par with developed countries. Don't worry sa safety ng mga planes natin. Ang iworry natin is the management of the airlines, baka masira bakasyon or negosyo nyo. Very tight ang planes to destination ratio ng CebPac.

That's what I don't get dito sa mga tao. Mag bakasyon ka na rin lang tititioirin mo pa sarili mo. Tapos mga kinakaian puro fast food para tipid nanaman.

Huwag na lang umalis kung puro pagtitipid gagawin
