At the end of the day,
    When you die,
It doesnt matter if you didnt believe in the use of hazzards lights during severe driving conditons.
Your funeral procession will still be a long line of cars with their hazzard lights ON.
    Ironic,

    Ironic,
we can probably forestall the dying part, if we don't use the hazard lights under impaired visibility driving conditions.

Probably, in cases the driver behind you is suffering from anti-hazzard light sickness that confuses him to death for not knowing which side to overtake.

On the other end it may save lives, especially if the driver in hazzard lights is trying to warn you that half of the road ahead is missing.

If the road ahead is missing, then it would be logical to use hazard lights, because the car would Not Be Moving, and most likely be on the side of the road, stationary, until the road ahead clears up again.

On another note, it would certainly be easier to distinguish proficient drivers from the rest, especially those who didn't read the LTO regulations on the use of such lights while the car is in motion.

Seeing 3 or 4 cars ahead of you have their flashers on is counterintuitive. We are not robots and those lights are annoying as hell. The distraction it creates can supersede the intention of being visible, enough so, that your brain starts to tune them out and cause you to miss actual hazards.

    Light pollution IS a thing.

Exactly. We always forget the lessons we learn from school. "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" applies.
