Hi ED,
THANKS FOR THE E MAIL. I'D LIKE TO TELL YOU MY SON'S EXPERIENCE
WITH THE MANILA POLICE LAST WEDNESDAY EVENING AT ABOUT 10PM.
CHRISTIAN WENT TO THE CONDO AT THE CORNER OF VITO CRUZ AND TAFT
AVE. TO RETURN HIS COUSIN'S LAPTOP. HE HANDED THE LAPTOP TO HIS
COUSIN AND WENT BACK TO THE CAR. WHEN HE GOT TO THE CAR, THERE
WAS A COP WHO ASKED HIM WHAT HE WAS DOING THERE; WHY HE WAS
PARKED ON A NO PARKING AREA. CHRISTIAN SAID, IF IT WERE A NO
PARKING AREA WHY IS IT THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF CARS PARKED.
THE COP TOLD HIM TO OPEN HIS TRUNK AND CHRIS ASKED, WHY? DO YOU
HAVE A WARRANT? ANYWAY, THE CAR DOORS AND WINDOWS WERE OPEN AND
ANOTHER COP SEARCHED THE INTERIOR WHILE ANOTHER OPENED THE
TRUNK.
IN THE TOOLBOX THEY FOUND THE PLASTIC END OF SPARK PLUGS. THE
COP SAID IT WAS A PARAPHARNALIA. THE SAME COP BROUGHT TO THE
TRUNK USED PLASTIC SACHETS OF SHABU AND STARTED TO SHOUT 'DRUGS
'TO!', 'DRUGS!'
SO THEY TOOK CHRISTIAN, TO THE ATM OF BPI. THEY SAW HIS CARD
AND ASKED HIM TO WITHDRAW ALL HIS MONEY. FORTUNATELY HE DOES
NOT KEEP HIS MONEY THERE. ONLY HIS SALARY IS DEPOSITED THERE.
SO THE COPS WE INSISTED THAT HE WAS A DRUG USER. AND MY SON WAS
SAYING DO A TEST NOW SO THEY'LL SEE IF HE'S POSITIVE. HE SAID I
CAN'T WORK IN MANDARIN AS A CHEF IF I'M A DRUG USER. HE SAID HE
HAD TO GET POLICE, NBI, BARANGAY, COURT AND MEDICAL CLEARANCE
BEFORE HE COULD START WORKING.
THEN THE POLICE TOOK HIM TO POLICE HEAD-QUARTERS AT UN AVE. AND
THERE FORCED HIM TO EAT SHABU. IT TOOK A WHILE BEFORE HE ATE
IT. SIX COPS WERE PUNCHING HIM AND SCARING HIM WITH THEIR GUNS
UNTIL THE POOR GUY PEED IN HIS PANTS OUT OF FEAR. HE HAD TO
SWALLOW THE DRUG. THEN THE COPS STARTED TO LAUGH. NOW WE'LL SEE
IF YOU ARE NEGATIVE OF SHABU. '200,000PHP AND WE'LL LET YOU GO
OR THIS WILL BE AT THE FISCALS OFFICE IN THE MORNING. CALL YOUR
FRIENDS AND PARENTS.
THIS ORDEAL STARTED AT 10PM. HE WAS ABLE TO CALL ME AT 5AM THE
FOLLOWING DAY. POOR SON OF MINE WAS REALLY TRAUMATIZED. A
FRIEND OF HIS CAME WITH TWENTY THOUSAND THE COPS GRABBED IT AND
LET HIM GO AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED.
I WAS IN LIPA ALL THE TIME THIS WAS HAPPENING. CHRIS LATER
FOUND OUT FROM HIS COUSIN THAT SEVEN OF HER FRIENDS WERE ALSO
APPREHENDED BY THE SAME GROUP OF COPS AND ALSO TOOK THEM TO
THEIR ATM'S. THEY GOT ALL THEIR MONEY IN THE ACCOUNT. THIS COP
IS CAPT.MENDOZA OF THE MOBIL GROUP AND SARGENT GAVINO. IF YOU
GUYS KNOW INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE IN THE SERVICE, PLEASE LET THEM
KNOW ABOUT THIS. I WOULD ALSO LIKE FOR THEM TO RETURN THE MONEY
THEY TOOK FROM MY SON SO HE COULD GIVE IT BACK TO HIS FRIEND.
THE MORE PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT THIS SO CALLED POLICE OFFICERS THE
BETTER. THIS IS THE TYPE OF GOVERNMENT THAT WE HAVE NOW. DISARM
THE POPULATION AND THIS TYPE OF ABUSE HAPPENS. THANKS AND PASS
IT ON. BOB

Sa hirap ng buhay ngayon, nothing is imposible either cops or no cops. Keep your eyes open.

Nope, the incident is true. May na-relieve na na mga pulis Maynila, kasama si Sr. Insp. Rolando Mendoza, reportedly a former recipient of the Ten Outstanding Policemen Awards.
Dapat masibak at makulong agad itong mga mokong na ito.

It could be true. Alam nyo naman ang mga pulis maraming drama sa buhay. Rub outs, planting of evidences, fall guys, entrapments, etc.
Ingat na lang.

May 28th, 2008 09:55 AM #8I tend to believe that the story is credible... heard it over the radio yesterday that come of the cops, 5 I think, got relieve... just like Galactus said...

i study at CSB and i have been random checked twice. a couple of months back i came from a party and had to drop off a friend at her dorm near csb.. it was around 2 am after dropping her off sa residencia turned left into taft i just saw soemone flagging me with a flashlight.i stopped near starbucks para maliwanag at maraming tao. they asked for my DL and car registration. they asked me what i was doing there at that time so i told em i had to drop off a friend. they asked me where i came from i said makati. they search the car without touching anythin naman. they asked me to open the glove box the center console and checked the door pockets. they saw my bag and they asked me to open it. i obliged and they saw my camera and asked if i was a photographer i just said no im a student taking photography.. i sat in my car for a couple of mins. they never really asked me to step out of the car and even if they did i wouldnt. they returned my dl and registration and they let me go after like 15 mins of looking around.
second one was a couple of weeks back. came back from a police station over at guadalupe (coz i was part of a little fender bender) so was around 11 pm was with 3 friends. drop 2 of them over at their condo at vito cruz. started driving back towards CCP then a car pulled up beside my car with my friend still on the passenger seat. they flashed us with a flash light and asked us to pull over. i stopped under a lamp post where its brighter and theres people walking around. same drill they asked me for my dl and registration. they asked us to open the glove compartment and looked into the pockets. but thing is my friend had long rocker hair lol they asked him if he was carrying marijuana. he said no but they asked to see any identification. so he took out his drivers license. they even checked his box of cigs. what they didnt know he was the son of a police colonel whos posted down in quezon province. so anyhow they jokingly said its coz of his hair thats why they asked if he had marijuana (a very funny stereotype) so they returned my dl and registration and told us to drive safely adn dont do drugs (doh!) on this encounter i think the police had some drinks before they did their random check... oh and i noticed i wasnt the only one they checked.. there are two police cars doing random checks
thank God none of whats in the story happened to us..
