Sunday/Weekend drivers on a Wide open Edsa running ever so slowly, and side by side at that! It's ok if these guys want to take their own sweet time, pero sana isang lane na lang kinain nila.

Using your signal lights properly is basic courtesy on the road.

However, thinking negatively, that other drivers will not give way is another psychological/spiritual issue for the driver altogether.

That's actually the rule here rather than the exception. Most of the time nag early signal ako. Pero based on experience 99 percent of the time instead of giving way as they're still far away... They speed up.

You do not have control over what others do on the road. What you have control of is YOUR behaviour. You do what you have to do, but the choice to do what's right is yours.

I agree. Usually, pay nag signal ka, it is a sign for the other motorist to speed up & block you. This is why I developed a bad habit when driving in the city. I don't signal anymore, like a taxi driver.

Medjo OT, perk walang thread for this. I hope you can accommodate me, if not, just delete. What I hate most is driving behind, beside or near a ten wheeler dump truck. There were so many times that their gravel load spills onto the road & hits my car. Most recent was my 1 month old new car. Biruin mo naman, I was a lane away & behind him in he expressway. He dislodged these rock & they came flying towards me. One of them hit my bumper & flew to my windshield. But I gasgas lang.

So you don't belong in the city streets. When signalling for the intent to shift lanes, you are merely asking for the vehicle behind that has the right of way to let you shift. Just like borrowing things from someone else, kapag di pumayag eh di hindi. Kung pinilit mo that's stealing. Common road courtesy.

That is why I rarely go to Makati, Manila or QC on a weekday. Pero pag di ka mag signal, di nila alam na may intent to shift kaya do sola nag speed up. I have no problems in traffic, madali lang maski close quarters & given that if you signal, eventually mākaka shift ka rin. Problem hung lanes na free & you want to shift to it, the vehicles usually speed up.

It happened to me before! May 2 tuklap ako sa hood. Galing sa gravel or stones from a truck that had no cover. Dapat may trapal yun diba?

kainis nga yung walang safety net or cover,

Last week one way lang sa national road dito sa province may repair sa daan, so naka stop yung lane namen tapos dumaan yung trak na nagkarga ng binasag na semento ng ginagawang daan, ayun pagtapat saken bumagsak yung isang tipak na kasin-laki ng dalawang kamao bumagsak sa daan kaso may splinter at tumama sa passenger door, dented na tanggal pa pintura.

Maski may trapal na cover, naglalag-lagan rin. Now, I usually steer clear of them.

Exactly. Others being stupid is not an excuse for being one of them.

Bad motoring etiquette: What you hate the most.
