The Lina law only requires you to relocate the squatters when a private company or individual will buy a government land occupied by informal settlers... if the land is privately owned, the lina law does not apply...

why do the "professional squatters" force you to pay them to leave your own land? is that in the law?

if you are a land owner, you should secure your property like having fences.. now if "professional squatters" occupy your property you have the option to.. pay them to leave..less hassle for you or your may file an ejectment case in court in Forcible Entry mode where in that case you have 1 year to file upon discovery of forcible entry.. with the court's decision, you will have a writ of execution wherein you will request the court's sheriff to implement to have the squatters leave your property.

if upon discovery you did not file a case say for 2 years, the case you need to file is unlawful detainer.. which in the end will result in the ejectment of the squatter.

here's the funny thing about that. i recall my aunt said we had one, but he moved his family in and things snowballed into his other relatives moving in and then they just took over it. its been awhile and now my aunt just hires people her longtime maid knows.

I have a friend who narrated a story of one of their family properties in Kalookan before . The caretaker just called one day that the then mayor and his cohorts just showed up one day with throngs of squatters (aka. voters) to take over their property (im assuming this has been back in the 1960s-1970s).
