This sounds like a Pinoy-driver-abusing-his-foreign-ambassador/boss's authority. Of course, we can't rule out that his boss is equally abusive by not stopping his driver from doing so, if he gets to experience such dangerous behavior. I've seen some foreign nationals with blue plates who also abuse their vehicles. These instances, however, are not with expensive vehicles, but with some more economical/pedestrian imports. It's probably not the ambassador using these cars. In these cases, can the member of the embassy/consulate also cite diplomatic immunity?
i like your observation, toyboxph. ala-spiderman nga, "with great power, comes great responsibility". they're given the privilege (blue plates) because they are deemed to be responsible, thus they should justify this by actually being responsible, and not abusive.

This afternoon I saw an altis in the middle of the ayala (going edsa) and buendia intersection. I thought that the altis had car trouble as it wasn't moving. I was getting worried kasi baka mahagip siya ng mga kotse. Then I saw it take a left at buendia when there is clearly no left turn at that intersection. That altis could have caused an accident simply by being at the middle of the intersection much more when he turned left at Buendia. Hay. Yun pala naka blue plate.
A few minutes later I was already at Pasay road turning right to sshw when a benz totally ignored the red light and crossed EDSA going straight to Dasmarinas! Imagine! E kung bus ang makahagip sa kanya!
Two "immune to traffic lights" cars in less than an hour.

December 16th, 2008 06:19 PM #38I have a diplomatic plate car, yup we do have immunity. Most of us who have the plates do follow traffic rules, we only don't during emergencies. I don't like those people who are also abusing their powers due to their blue plates. Although i have a lot of experience being run off the road by vehicles with 2,4 and 8 plate numbers and overzealous escorts what weave in and out of the road going to La Vista. I hate those people
