The fastest i've gone is 140Kph on my 1996 Civic when i was in college. Nowadays, the needle on my odo barely knows the 100Kph mark...

A simpler explanation would be a busted or uncalibrated odometer. Many Japanese vehicle's odometer are inaccurate at high speeds (15-20% or even higher).

An AUV with a bad coefficient drag ratio, a torque-biased engine (pumping out only 84hp), and a lower final gear ratio isn't a recipe for a 190kph run. Heck, even 1.6L compact sedans would be hard pressed to go over 180kph.

Though if this is the gasoline model, a 160kph run wouldn't be surprising.

AFAIK, tire size can have an effect on the speedometer also. An increase from stock size will result to lower-than-actual-speed reading and vice-versa.

Not to deviate from the topic, my max speed is 120 kph on SLEX at 2k-3k rpm. Haven't tried pushing it to the limit - 120 kph is already a bit fast for me

1990 16 valve Corolla 160kmh at EDSA. Dati pa to nung maluwag at maganda pa ang EDSA. Was still at 4th gear, ran out of road. No aircon.

175 kmh this morning using a Chevy Venture sa Star toll. Downhill but still not bad for an A/T minivan with aircon on. Was running at a little over than 4500 rpm. Engine still had some give left but my nerves did not. Using smaller tires than stock so my correct speed should be a little less, around 170 kmh.

So the 6-speed is good for something. IIRC the old 5-speeds up to the Evo7 would top out at about 250-260kmh at 7800rpm in 5th, beyond redline na to get to that speed.

Ako n yata ang pinkamabagal magdrive. Dito sa Bermuda minsan ko lang nasubukan 80 kph hindi ko na uulitin mahirap na 35 kph lang legal speed dito.
Sa NLEX naman 120 kph lang top speed ko nasa 2k rpm lang para sa honda Vtec tapos average ko 90-100 kph lang pamilyado e.

mitsubishi adventure GL 1998 model. 4d56 diesel engine. 190kph. at aguinaldo hi way (tagaytay up to silang). pababa kasi.

Our company service na '02 (2002 binili) Mitsubishi Adventure, 130kph pa nga lang nanginginig na eh. eto pa kaya 190kph.

Before my 1000Km change oil, hanggang 80Kph lang. Now after mg change oil, crusing speed is 100Kph.

Although sinubukan ko sa 110Kph for about 10 mins. OK lang. Kaso almost 4000rpm na.

Pero para matipid sa gas, dapat hanggang 80Kph lang. Mahirap.

The reason why I was that fast at Libis last night was because I showed a white Civic Vti who was faster. When I blew his doors off, I just kept on accelerating until I was nearing the E.Rod/Ortigas flyover. I wasn't trying to see what was my top speed (yet). All I could see in my rear view was his headlights far behind when I reached the flyover.

I also when up against a black Toyota Camry (new model) with twin exhausts. I don't know if it was a 3.0L or 3.5L under the hood. That was on EDSA, makati to cubao direction. I out-accelerated him as we approached Guadalupe side-by-side. I reached a top speed of around 170kph before slowing down approaching Shaw underpass. The Camry, on the other hand, kept his speed and closely cut in front of a slower car to enter the underpass.

I've been wondering about those Camries... they ought to be able to blow our doors off, but their tested 0-100 km/h times locally don't seem to add up. Hahaha... I'm aching even more now to see your car now that you're done! :lol:
