patayin ako ni daddy kung ipamigay ko lang yun

it is the 200 gas model ata. has the fins in the back and the round headlights.

let me take pics of the one we have here and i will mms it to anyone who wants to see the pics. just email me at andysppc*yahoo.com if you want pics via mms.

i think the one in Cebu can easily be put into running condition. it can also be put in a container and just shipper door to door to somewhere in manila. what so you guys think?

hm.. a heckflosse.... fintail... hehehe... hirap na ng parts nyan dude!.. better change parts from one car to the other and bring the other car to its glory... simply use the other one as your parts car... get everything that is good from the parts car to the running car.. once done.. scrap the parts car. or sell it in pieces....

    IMO lang po.

yup, we have two of those. that was actually the plan, use one as the parts car. but when we sent it to the restorer in Cebu, he said both were in surprisingly complete condition parts wise. we therefore have a relatively complete one in Cebu and a complete running one here in Gen. Santos.

in any case, if you know of anyone who might be interested, please email me. mukhang na hijack na natin ang thread na ito. but at least it has the same topic, ibang kotse lang ang pinagusapan.

maybe a professional MB restoring group would like to take a crack at it and sell it to a collector?

got the preliminary budget as follows assuming that the FX rate is Php 57.00 to USD1.00:

    1. original suspension & uprated brake parts from the u.s. - Php 115,000 inclusive of shipping

    2. engine wear & tear parts - Php 35,000 inclusive of shipping

    3. exterior trims/panels/interior trims- Php 70,000 inclusive of shipping

    4. full/extensive chassis and body work including painting & rustproofing- Php 80,000.00 (PPG all the way using original color code).

    5. Interior leather for seats and sidings/ceiling material and a portion of the dashboard: Php 45,000.00

TOTAL EST. RESTORATION BUDGET: Php 345,000.00
Cushion for cost overrun (20%) : Php 69,000.00
TOTAL ESTIMATED RESTORATION : Php 414,000.00

It would seem that the resto costs way more than the car hehehe! ;)

That's often the case with car restorations.

80,000? Walang masilya dapat yan! Puro new sheetmetal!

But Php 414,000 for a classic car with good power,... I think it's worth it.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Yup, I'll think about it. In the meantime, I'm seeking a place (maybe a vacant warehouse?) to store this unrestored baby.

a friend of mine restored a early 60' MB 180D, it was at the octoberfest car show in glorietta 2 weeks ago. i forgot how much he spent for it thou, but is surely a head turner especially with the older people who remember having one. he got some offer to buy that 180D, but i think he wouldn't part with it. BTW he might be interested in that BMW 2002 if its for sale.

as a shop hu restores, i suggest that the restoration should have a schedule, restoring it in a slou manner uill just make you spend more, at the same time increasing the risk of an unfinished restos.

if budget is the problem but u realy uant to fix it up? i suggest you uait til you get the budget! then thats the time you start! coz everytime you buy or start uorkin on a project, then stop at the middle, uhatever you did you might re-do again.

if you think you cant afford the resto, then might as uell sell it, than risk junking the car more, louering its present value.

call me or text me, lets discuss your problem more! 0918******* (eric)

btw...if you do decide to restore it: could you switch the 3rd and 4th letters on the "tiit" badge and remount it?

    huge cool factor!!

sold the heap to a good friend who happens to be a bachelor and is doing well in his business. he'll pursue the restoration and has already bought parts from this site: www.jaymic.com which specializes in BMW2002 cars. A body-off restoration is also in the works. Parts alone would cost this dude Php 380 thousand plus shipping cost.

luckytruck a.k.a. andy, if your MB is an SL roadster, I might have a buyer. a late 60's 280SL to 300SL are highly desirable.
