    Spark Plug Cable: Ford racing 8.8mm
    Cooling system: Standard front end radiator with two 11" electric fans, 2 auxiliary radiators with electric fan located at the rear of the car.

    Turbo, allow me to answer AG4 >>>

    Yes, turbo did a make-over of a 1967 mustang fastback. He hand fabricated front independent suspension, rear independent suspension (ala Total Control Suspension System design), reinforced the chassis via tubular steel support system, slapped a big block FE 460 c.i. engine, slapped a supercharger with intercooler (forgot the brand though, hehe). He also fabricated "metal" panels (ala Eleanor), fiberglass ram air hood scoops and side scoops. He also fabricated side-exiting dual exhaust system (with H pipe design). He also slapped a rack and pinion steering system to replace the stock system.

    Of course it helps that Turbo has his own machine shop, complete garage tools, and fiberglass moulding tools.

    The mark of a true enthusiast is that he himself does the makeover!

    Turbo, my only question is why metal panels? Won't it be better as far as weight-to-power is concerned to have fiberglass panels since the 460 c.i. engine is already very heavy? (sorry, OT na ito)

    FXT, good luck on your Pontiac "Goat" project! I was also once looking for one but its so difficult to find one in the country.

    Must be one of the reasons why Shelby GTs had fiberglass hood, fascia, decklid, and quarter extensions panels.

    By the way, does it also have the long Merc Cougar taillights?

    Why I chose Metal over fiberglass?

    Since i got hold of a 460 before I started the project, I thought it best to make the front end and front valence as "structural members" of the unibody construction. This is becuase of the monstrous torque of the 460, plus the only way that I will fit everything inside the hood is to remove the shock towers. So to compensate for the lost "stress members" I added another stress member on a different location.

    Now everything fits, Eaton Supercharger, intercooler, 2" headers, power steering pump, A/C, Hydrobooster. Etc. But it is still a tight fit.

    To handle the weight bias, I move the engine "6 inches" to the back, which necessitates the tearing of the firewall. The battery will lo be move to the rear trunk.

    Another reason why I did not use fibergless is that with the tremendous torque of the engine, the bonded surfaces will eventually crack. And Shelby does not use fiberglass. The scoops are all metal din Sir Woodfire.

    Yes I have many pairs of Cougar tail lights left.

    Yes, everything was locally hand fabricated and I have already done 3 cars. The first to be finished is now inside the BURGUNDY Tower in Buendia.

    Sayang, d ba inalok ko sayo yung "67 GTO Convetible" with 400 and th400.

    When I visited turbo's shop he showed me the custom exhaust pipes, and it was for the side exhaust of his eleanor. I was very impressed that he went the extra mile to make it functional.

    Even Eleanor in the movie didnt have functional side exhausts.. those vents were just aesthetic.

    I cant wait to see (and ride kung pwede hehehe) turbo's eleanor pag tapos na

    Thats odd... the decklid with integrated spoiler, hood, fascia etc are usually listed as being made of fiberglass.

    The 1967 Shelby Mustang was available in two basic models: the GT350 carrying the high performance 289 V-8 and the GT500 hauling the larger 428ci V-8. Shelby now began parting ways from the basic Mustang model. The new 1967 Shelby model was drastically restyled to give off looks of performance, while also being able to deliver performance. A unique grill with two 7 inch driving lights could be found under the fiberglass nose extension, which was exaggerated from the production Mustang. Although most '67 Shelbys had these driving lights mounted close together in the center of the grill, some can be found with the driving lights mounted at each end of the grill to comply with some states lighting laws. Additional hood pins were added to the fiberglass hood which had a functional hood scoop. In the rear of the car, upper and lower scoops could be found, however, the lower scoops were only functional on early '67's. At the rear of the car was a fiberglass deck lid with a spoiler, as were tailights from the 1967 Cougar, without the chrome trim.

    They also mentioned this when Unique Performance was featured in Rides(shown a couple of times in Discovery Channel), Unique Performance' Shelby GT500E uses fiberglass panels just like the original Shelby GT500.

    But the production version of the Shelby GT500E "Eleanor" had functional side exhaust systems.

    thats another reason why you don't see cut outs for the exhaust pipes at the rear like the original GT500.

    Ok, I stand corrected about the fiberglass thing.

    I just have bad experiences with fiberglass having stress fractures which produces hairline cracks on good paint finishes. Experience I get from owning 5 Corvettes.

    The ehaust pipes of Eleanor is not actually aluminum, but aluminized pipe. Same variety as the pipes you buy in ordinary auto supply, the difference is spaying it with aluminum particles under high heat condition. They are only 2 1/2 inch and H pipe.

    I did my Eleanor with 3" gage 18 stainless steel pipe, and X pipe configuration. X pipe is more difficult to do but it has better torque output. And it is more difficult to work with stainless steel.

    Yes Unique uses fiberglass, because it is cheaper to produce fiberglass in mass production than making a steel die for the parts they need.

    Fiberglass kit that Unique market is not an actual bolt on. My friend who bought the whole kit from Unique at a cost of $6000.00 is complaining that they have already spent 3 months fitting the kit to their donor car. He also complains that the rear is not gelled to finish, very rough daw. Dito na Philippines ginagawa.

    But then again, they are the originators, I just copied it.

    Turbo, that's the same problem being encountered by a colleague who bought fiberglass hood, hood scoop, and front valance for a 1966 Mustang (from Branda in the U.S.). He's presently cloning a GT350-R. He ended up having the fiberglass parts done locally nalang.

    Sayang yung mga fiberglass panels that he brought in from the U.S.

    This colleague slapped a stroker kit in his 289 engine to increase displacement to 347 c.i. Pero, nag o-overheat parati so they also installed aluminum cylinder heads (trick flow) and aluminum radiator.

    This is his never ending project hehehe! But... he's satisfied and happy whenever he hears the deep bass drone of the engine hehehe

    That has always been the problem sa stroker engine, laging overheat.

    Plus the Ford small block for does not like being bored 0.030" over standard, overheat agad ang problem.

    Laki siguro ng ginasta ng barkada mo, mahal yang mga piyesa na yan lalo na kay Tony branda.

    Magkakaron ka din nyan. hanap tayo.

    My 72 440 Challenger will be arriving from Mindanao on Saturday. Excited na ako, plus meron pang isang 71 383 RT Challenger na finally ay binenta na din sa kin.

    In the car collector's circle, "modernizing" car may affect its resale value.
    It is therefore not a surprise that when the holy grails of all cars are found stashed somewhere all hell breaks loose among collectors willing to pay top $$$ to own a piece of history or nostalgia. The "holy grail cars" are vehicle that sport original everything (paint,engine,tires,interiors,equiptments,high option,even to down to the nuts and bolts, etc), low mileage, no rust (therefore no repanelling), defintely no hit/accident, not run in rain/snow, unrestored, etc. These holy grail cars are designated as museum pieces, destined never to taste the road ever. :D

    Napakaraming[U] kotse dyan sa Burgundy. Most are real collectible.

    Never met Mr. Serafica, but spoke to him on the phone a couple of times.

    Personally, ayaw ko ng purist approach. Masyado magastos at masyadong pinupuna ang d original. D m naman pwdeng maintain na original to the last screw.

    Ok na sa akin ang restomode. The body is close to original, while the engine is tricked out to give more power. Some will not agree, but the moment I paid for the car I can do anything I want on it, Some purist will even disdain it when you replace the radiator hose!!!???
