Seems like I'm the only one here who wears gloves when driving.

I started using gloves last December. At first it felt weird since wearing gloves restricted my fingers and the feel of the steering wheel was thicker. But after a few days it already felt natural that I made it a habit to use gloves everytime I drive.

    My reasons for wearing gloves:
    1. To prevent blisters since my hands blister easily
    2. Hygiene

Not to make a big deal out of this. But, I'm trying to picture how someone can get blisters just from driving. I can see someone getting blisters if the vehicle they're driving is some kind of huge truck with no power steering and the wheel alignment is so horrible it swerves as soon as you let go of the wheel. You're constantly battling to keep the truck straight on the road.

But a car...... Gee, my 06 Hyundai Sonata is a big and heavy car. But I can drive it with one right thumb and index finger on the steering wheel while my left arm is draped over the open window and me trying to look cool.

My chances of getting blisters are far greater handling exercise machines in the gym.

So should you recommend people to wear gloves if their car isnt equipped with power steering?

If it's hard to keep straight and level plus if the steering wheel is barren and smooth like those in jeepneys and cargo trucks. Sure, why not. Have you seen a jeepney driver's palms?

But cars? Unless you plan to do some reckless driving (like a jeepney driver), I doubt you'll need gloves. Hmmm. They do drive reckless, don't they?

Add: So for me, no gloves. But shades? Darn right. Someone should start a "Do you wear shades while driving?" thread.

The shades can also be a show-off part... hehehe...

Both gloves and shades give advantages...

I don't wear one. Maybe I would if my car is a sports car.
