Yes
No
tried wearing boxing gloves while driving.....ang hirap... heheheheheh.
seriously, no.... i only drive short distance.
but when i go mountain biking, i sure do wear them.
and i wear gloves too while playing golf.... (OT na...)
if you hold your steering wheel properly while driving, not with one finger hehehe, you'll develop kalyo (not blisters --> paltos). i think it is not really with turning the steering wheel that you develop those kalyo. it is with constantly holding the steering wheel that causes the skin on your inner hand to pack together tightly for a period of time. so even if we have power steering we can still develop kalyo or callus.
Nope... I drive for more than 3 hours a day a yet I don't have blisters on my hand. I grip my steering wheel properly too to boot (10 & 2 o'clock position for me).
i drive 2 hours a day pero ni minsan nde pa nagpaltos o nagkalyo ang kamay ko at grip ko talaga yung manibela. si takumi nga halos araw araw hard driving pero wala namang suot na gloves :D
No, I don't.
But there was this one time that I did wear expensive leather gloves. It made me feel like a Nascar driver, and I don't know why...feeling lang ha, kasi I drive like grandma, hehehe
why would wearing gloves improve hygiene? particularly if you always drive your own car? aren't the dark, sweaty, tight confines of gloves breeding grounds for bacteria...and why would you be grossed out to touch your own car?![]()
if you've got sweaty palms maybe you should consider wearing gloves because the acid from your sweat may damage the leather of your steering wheel. daming kasong ganyan kaya ultimately they end up re-upholstering their SWs eventually
nope, I don't think I need one for everyday driving, heck even for my occasional long driving, unless I'm driving a 18 wheeler truck w/o power steering....
for those who are using for their everyday driving, how do you drive ba, ala race car driver? or does your car have a 55" wheels? hehehe
kahit pa siguro gawing batas ang pagsuot ng gloves... no friggin way josé!
even during the prehistoric times i drove pawis steering cars, kahit ilocos pa drive ko or batangas balikan, i never had the foggiest urge to wear gloves. i mean, wtf for, right? to eliminate the occurence of blisters that weren't there to begin with? for fogi foints??? helooow??? ang init nun sa kamay... pawis pa... mold factory yan....
It depends on the type of vehicle, I guess.
I tried wearing gloves once, simply because the airconditioning on the car would freeze my fingers when it was turned up to reach the people in the back.
But I've never found need to wear gloves for driving per se. On vehicles with power steering or even some vehicles without, if you're holding the wheel properly, you won't get blisters. If you do, you're holding the wheel too tightly. Your hands should be relaxed and limber, ready to react to road situations at a moment's notice.
If you've got a death grip on the wheel so bad that it leaves indentations in the rubber, then you're less likely to be able to react quickly when the need arises. It's also a risk of injury if you happen to hit a pothole or a rock. Ask the off-roader boys and they'll tell you how unwise it is to hold your wheel too hard...
My daily driver is equipped with racing rubber. It's a b*tch to drive down bumpy roads because it picks up every single camber and rut and tugs this way and that. But I've never really found the need to wear gloves with it, because the leather gives fine grip and padding. Good leather, too. Nardi leather, and despite three years of use, the silver part hasn't worn down at all.
I've driven a few of our delivery vehicles (some with pawis steering), and none of them made my palms sore. About the only vehicle which I'd want to wear gloves for is my Uncle's BJ40 Landcruiser, which has no power steering and 30" mud tires. It's a pain to drive, as the wheels weigh a ton and it doesn't want to go straight, but neither he nor his wife (!!!) wear gloves while driving it.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
I don't wear gloves behind the wheel. I have, however, occasionally worn a wrist support, for those times when either hand suffers a sprain. Hindi komportable sa manibela, so I can imagine what it's like with actual gloves.
There are times na tempted na akong mag-gloves, particularly when my hands get too cold from the airconditioning. Kaya lang, mukha naman akong poser nun since my ride is hardly for racing. Besides, I feel more confident when my skin makes contact with the wheel, with no gloves in the way.
As my palms do tend to sweat a lot, I got myself a leather steering wheel cover instead.

None of my co-workers wore gloves when driving. But, I brought up the topic anyway and didn't make much headway.
Mention palms and blisters in one sentence and they turned it into a dirty joke.I should've seen that one coming. He He
