Malaki difference ng kita ng dealer (i.e. Toyota Global, Manila Bay, etc) sa kita ng manufacturer (i.e. TMP). Dealers make peanuts. Manufacturers make much more.

yup its possible 10-12% only. tapos mag-iissue pa ng OR, then may tax pa ng gobyerno at syempre may overhead pa. masuwerte na ang car dealers kung ang net income nila ay 2 to 3% kung ito'y base sa legal ng documentations. kaya dito sa pinas pag straight as arrow ang business (meaning walang hokus pokus) di tatagal ang nagosyo. in few months lang bankarote na. As a businessmen I would prefer low volume but high profit margin...

OT - kaya pala quite tong thread na ban pala si newbie pain in the neck. His opinion was only a figment of his immagination or should I say he is just a figment of immagination created by allien. oops I used the wrong pronoun HE, dapat "IT" pala sya este ITO..whatever. hehe

Healthy talaga ang forum kapag walang troll.

Anyways, as an ordinary buyer, I am more concern on what is the total purchase price of the car and if I can afford to pay for it, than how much the dealer marks up the price or what the manufacturer earns.

If I cannot afford the price, then I will not be able to buy the car and in effect, will look at other dealers instead for better deals, or switch to a different brand/model altogether.

from my understanding here, from economics point of view, it is wrong to say (our great debater is always wrong anyway) "car true value" or "how much is your car without mark-up" but what is the value for money at a given time, right? or the purchasing power of money (for example, Php1M) at a given time. Is the purchasing power of Php1M in 1915 the same in 2015?

Sir,kung net profit po yan malamang nandun nga ang kita nang planta. Sa plant po namin na ibang industry at least 25 to 30% mark up to cover operational expenses and have a good net profit sir.
